Angel finally renewed?

After weeks of uncertainly for Joss Whedon, the influential Ain't It Cool news site are the first to claim that Angel will be renewed for a fifth season.

"The switchboard has been lighting up all Tuesday night with news from lesser sources that the WB finally decided to slide Angel off the bubble and into a fifth-season renewal," they announced.


The site reports that Tim Minear's fourth season finale script, "is an amazing knee-slapper, and spins the show into a wholly unexpected direction."

It also claims that several of the best writers from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly are expected to migrate to the show, "transforming the franchise into a Mutant Enemy supershow."

We will be checking with our own sources at Fox today, and hope to have more news on this later in the week.

Phew....... well at least it looks like all the speculation is over then, and we have at least one more season to look forward to. 😀

I'M SOOO HAPPY!!!

But Connor might not be in season 5!! But Spike will....I soo exited.
But I kinda want Connor to be there. I will miss him.

Honestly, I'm just as pumped about the possibility of character cross-overs now that there isn't a 'different network' situation.
 
the networks are retarded...ratings go up for cross overs...

i'm glad angel has been renewed...i hope the crew won't sell out the essence for ratings...
 
Well, it looks like I'll start watching Angel after all! With Buffy gone, I gotta have something to obsess about! 🙂
 
okay if they can give me a really good reason to watch it next season then i say bring it on.and if they can't season four is my final season.though if spike's in it that gives me something to look forward to and they say SMG might show up so maybe i'll have to see.

You won't regret it 😉

Especially if you download old eps or buy DVD's and watch the show from the beginning. There are some fantastic stories in past seasons. Besides, without the Angel show, we wouldn't understand Faith nearly so well, we wouldn't know the true power of Darla/Angel's relationship, we'd never know the hidden depth of Cordy and Wes' characters...

And besides all that, if you are a Buffy/Angel shipper, then you absolutely HAVE to see S1 Ep8 'I Will Remember You', it is the most touching Buffy/Angel tale to date. And if you're a spike fan, then the second episode of the first season will make you laugh right from the beginning.
 
Thanks Khaych, good adive 🙂 I think I'll pick up that Angel season 1 DVD set this summer, and do some catching up... the second season comes out pretty soon also, right?

Woah tiger... calm down.
The writers or Joss would never get rid of Conner just to put Spike in.. thats disrespectful to Vincent and James said he would never join if that meant him replacing another cast member.

Besides, Conner is getting to be a great character, I really like him, and he's not annoying at all, and NOTHING like that other annoying teenage female brat on that OTHER show.. hint hint 🙂

so.. CONNER isnt going NOWHERE.
 
Connor has so much depth left to explore. My chief beef with Connor has been that they haven't been exploring it. He had a huge amount of exposure, but recieved less character development than any of the cast.

With the last 2 episodes, that has changed a little, and I'm glad to see it.
 
Guess I was wrong.
For those who have seen the season finale already , let me just say this.

If Conner does not return next year, I will be very upset. I am sad now you guys, I am. Bitter-sweet ending
 
Can't wait either...after watching the season finale of Angel...they set up some good stuff for next season!
