aaaaah, where is that stupid edit icon?!

anyway i changed my mind and wanted to make a post about this edisode im watching.

im watching the one thats like a flashback to when angel was on that sub with spike.

its weird. it doesnt quite add up. first of all, whats with that weird looking vampire? is he just like super old or something? kinda like the master? if so wouldnt he be a bit harder to kill?

spike doesnt seem to be all that evil.. oh well. i dont remember when spike found out that angel wasnt evil anymore but he clearly doesnt know now. so doesnt he wonder where hes been for the past 100 or 200 years?

ireally dont buy all the coincidence. that they just happen to run into each other.

apearently angel turned this guy into a vampire right? so when darla was human he said he had never done it before (since hes had his soul back) and he didnt know how it would go.

then ya theyre hair is pretty fake. kind of a stupid point but still. lol

All you need to know is Angel + Spike together = Good chemistry + good viewing.

I've always theorized that the more ancient vampires, like The Master, Kokistos, The guy in the sub, and that huge fat one in the tank in one of the Buffy episodes (that was a direct rip off from a character from the original "Blade" movie) looked that way because the demons who occupied their bodies hadn't yet adapted to the point that they could morph back and forth from vampire to normal human features. Since they were monsters all of the time, they were much more easy to single out and destroy. Then, over the centuries, the vampire demons either learned how to, or evolved into, the ability to shift back and forth from vampire to human the way animals evolved protective coloration, to both conceal themselves when they were stalking prey and protect themselves when they weren't.

That would seem to fit fairly well, since all of those "monster" vampires had minions to do their hunting for them, thereby avoiding having to circulate among their "prey."

I never put much thought into Why We Fight anyway.

IMO, it's gotta be the most boring episode of the entire Buffyverse.

Spike didn't know that Angel had his soul in the 40s, did he? He just thought he was double-crossing.

About Spike not caring where Angel's been: They last meet in 1880 I think, when Spike killed the slayer and Angel tried to be a part of the gang again. At least that's what shown on screen. But maybe they meet after that, briefly, and Spike got the message that Angel(us) was going solo. No more answers needed.

Maybe he lied to Darla about the turning? Just to make her want it less? And he didn't really know what would happen, since the man he turned in the 40s left, and he couldn't see how it worked. Apparently not that god, as in Why We Fight.

Btw, I agree on the hair thing. Hate when it happens on shows, that flashback/past-characters have the same hair as their present version. Same with Vampire Willow, even tough that's a different lifestyle/dimension thing going on. Kind of lazy that she has almost the same hairstyle as regular Willow. Did they go to the exact same hairstylist who cut their hair that exact length in both universes?

The Prince of Lies is an homage to Count Orlok.

Also, the fat demon in Buffy wasn't a vampire. It was some other type of demon and it was killed by electrocution, which vampires are immune to. Plus it didn't turn into dust.

lol, I love Count Orlok!
Well Spike didn't know Angel had a soul when he first turned up in season 2, he said he'd heard rumours but wasn't actually sure.

Vampires are not immune to electrocution. It doesn't kill them, but in the past, it's been the easiest way to take Angel down.

Prince of lies was tough, Angel just got the jump on him, much like Buffy did to the Master. I'm pretty sure that in a fair fight, the Master would have beaten the Buffy of S1.

In the first episode where The Master meets Angelus, he says he's lived so long "he's grown past the curse of human features". I've always taken this as the longer a vampire lives, the less human they become and they eventual they start looking more like the demon within.
