Keeping everything else in the Season basically the same, what difference do you think that Angel could have made in the final confrontation with Glory? (Assume the same basic scenario here as we saw at the end of Season 7. Angel shows up with the weapon that could make all the difference in the battle, instead of them using Olaf's Hammer) Would Buffy have still sent him away, using the "second front" argument," which would have been just as valid there as two years later?

But Angel had more important things to do! Like being the handsome man that saves the beautiful girl from the monsters!

Plus, didn't have any all-powerful weapons then. I don't know what difference he could've made.

IF the scythe had been discovered at that point in the story then it's possible that Angel could have saved Buffy, Dawn, and the world. However, This was not Angel's fight. This was Buffy's fight. He was busy with his own demons in Los Angeles. I don't think the episode would have had the same impact emotionally if Angel got involved. Also, We learned that when Buffy wasn't capable of taking a human life...Giles was very capable of doing it for her. There were a lot of lessons learned in that episode.

If you mean would he have prevented Buffy dying then the answer is absolutely not. Death was her Gift. Buffy was dying that day, no matter what.

There's the possibility that he may have been able to get to Dawn but I one way or another her blood would have been spilled and opened the gate.

So no, I don't think he would have changed anything, no matter how hard he would have fought to save Dawn and help Buffy.

Also, given that Buffy had only a few weeks earlier asked him to stay forever, I don't see her sending him away for a second front either.

At that point, I believe that she was asking more in a "hold me and make the world go away" sense rather than a "stand by me and face this current Big Bad" sort of way. I'm not saying necessarily that you're wrong, but I really can't see the former having anything to do with the latter.

You're right that in Forever Buffy wanted Angel to stay from a strictly emotional standpoint, but given the nature of the battle facing her with Glory and how it was to happens specifically wherever Dawn was, I think Buffy would have jumped at any offer by Angel to help in the fight. A second front would really be a mute point in this case because if it was needed it would mean Buffy had failed and Hell had pretty much set up shop on Earth.

I think in generall it would ave been great to see Angel fight with Buffy and co again... Like in Season 2. What a great idea!!

But anyway I think that Buffy would accept him but that she would not fall in love woth him again!

Angel wouldn't have made much of a difference. It was Buffy's fight and in a way, Spike's time for the spotlight. Wasn't Angel in Pylea?

Well, maybe he could have died. Hey, one can dream, right? 😛

Died saving the world, thus stopping the Apocolypse, activating Shanshu, granted humanity and returned to Buffy for the Happily Ever After. Yes, one can dream. :p
