Maybe Cordelia, but since I didn't miss her at all in season 5 I can't say that she's necessary for my ideal team.

I could do without Wesley. He is more of an expert on demonology than Fred but I always felt like she was way smarter overall anyway. Doesn't Wes bore anyone else? Only time he was remotely interesting is when he was with Lilah. And he was funny to laugh at when he was such a wuss in Buffy Season 3.

Connor... eh. He's a good fighter, but comes with so much baggage.

Lorne- I love him but he could've stayed as a kind of side member of the gang at Caritas and that would've been fine. He wasn't exactly useful for research or fighting.

Harmony. I love her for comic relief and it was fun to see her as an almost member of the gang but as a legitimate member?... no. I think I would have liked it if she tried to get her soul back. It might've felt ridiculous with all these vamps getting their souls back OR it might've made her more interesting; to see the former high school mean girl getting her soul back and on a somewhat lesser scale compared to Angel & Spike... try to redeem herself for her past evil ways.

I added Wesley as a core member cause I felt he truly is one of the core members. Yes at times he bores me but his dark turn was amazing in end of S3 - S4 .
