Angel invitation question

I read at tvtome.com once that Angel could enter the apartment because it wasn't Faith's apartment, and the owner was no longer living. However, I do believe that is wrong because Cordelia said that the owner of the apartment was still in the hospital (alive).
 
yes he was, actually my obsessive "believe in the buffyverse" behavior has created an excuse...

faith stole that guys apartment, when you steal something it becomes yours, and then she invited angel... so no problem

they have never stated rules about people stealing other people stuff, so i choose to believe this
 
Forgive me, my memory is slipping, but did Faith even invite him into the apartment? I don't watch this episode as much as I should...

Anyway, I choose to believe your explanation as well. Makes most sense.
 
Yes she does, in the scene where Angel shoots Faith a blank and then she shoots him with a real bullet, Faith says something like "you're completely invited" or something like that and in Room With A View it's explained that if you invite a vampire somewhere far from home, the invitiation still stands when the vampire visits you

OH! it wasn't faith's apartment, she killed the guy who lived there, thus opening the burrier 😀 watched the ep last weekend! 😀
 
I just watched it yesterday.

Never once is it said that the owner is dead. As a matter of fact, the guy that she beats the crap out of actually gave a description to the police.

Dead people don't give descriptions.
 
he may have died afterwards though. After cordy told angel and he left the owner may have died in hospital then thus allowing angel to enter
 
fiath didn't really live there.... she just beat the crap out of the guy that lived there and stayed there for a few days...

it isnt her apartement she takes it from the guy when she arrives in LA.
Also i think he dies so....
 
There has never been a definition of what constitutes owning the residence, I mean is it just living in it, can Willow or Tara invite vampires into Buffy's house in Season 6 since they were living there. Xander and Anya couldn't in Season 5 Real Me, only Buffy, Joyce or Dawn could.

Is it possession of keys or a legal document?- unlikely because why would that affect a vampire.

I think living in it for more than a certain amount of time would be the most reasonable idea. 24 hours maybe, Faith was in the appartment at least 3 days probably more like 4-5.

Cordy: "On Monday, - a guy was beaten up here, his wallet and car were stolen. He's still in the hospital. Four blocks over - is a restaurant where they had a major knock down drag out on Tuesday. Then here another guy ran into something he referred to as 'the bitch from hell,' who sent him home with paramedics. - That was on Wednesday."

So if we go by duration then Faith could invite someone in and since we know that a vampire can be preinvited (from Cordelia's preinvite to Angel in Rm W/A Vu) then this quote takes affect

Faith: "You think? Because what if you kill me - and you experience that one true moment of pleasure? Oops! I'd get off on that. Go ahead. Do me. Let's take that hell ride together. Come on, Angel, I'm all yours! I'm giving you an open invitation.

So I think that can be used to explain it

I thought the guy was dead... which would mean that faith was just squating! I could be wrong! Not watched that one for a while!

This one site explained as vampires can enter a home if a resident invites them in. Faith was residing in the apartment.
 
What Faith says at the appartment is 'About time, soul-boy. Ready to play now?" I guess that could be interpreted as an invitation.
 
does it have to be yours to invite someone into? because in the episode i just watched where the vamp that angel made..ben? came back, and Wesly had invited Angel into someone else's apartment and that was fine

I think you mean Penn and I think Wesley invited Angel into Penn's apartment and it has been said before that Angel doesn't need an invite into another vampire or demon home.
