Angel Is The Longest Running Character

Actually, you could say that Angel is not the longest running character in the Buffyverse if you were being really picky...in the original unaired pilot, Angel wasn't even existent in the Buffyverse. But Harmony was! Therefore Harmony is the true longest running character in the Buffyverse. But if you're going from Welcome to the Hellmouth, Angel and Harmony should be allowed to share the honour!

Good thinking Josh! I forgot about Harmony. But she didn't really play a big roll so that would most likely be why...

I wouldn't consider Harmony also the longest running character...She was not in many eps...

Season 5

Harmony has made apperances in:

Buffy
Season 1
Season 2
Season 3
Season 4
Season 5

Angel
Season 3
Season 5

So even if you count Harmony's few episodes in a season Angel still has a year over her. Keep in mind Harmony has mainly been a small reacurring character in Buffy and season 5 of Angel is her first real cast member job. Harmony hasn't been in anywhere near as many episodes as Angel. So Angel is the longest running character.

when i read the thread name i was sure that this was about angel being the longest running char on tv ever😉 lol but no.. wow 8years is a lot!, but i think that josh is technincly right cos harmony, even though she is not a main, char from buffy, she has been a char longer then angel 😉 but only a feew eps, though, but angel def got some eps on her LOL

well it all depends on how you look at it, Angel wasnt even in all of the Buffy eps during S1-3, the same with Harmony except she has been a reacurring charecter from S1-5, and Jonathan has been a reacurring charecter in Buffy from S1-7.

Cordy has been in basically every episode of Buffy from S1-3, Angel S1-2, not in all the episodes of S3 and S4 so if you go by episodes Cordy would probably be the longest running charecter and she is coming back for atleast 1 episode of S5 so if you also go by season then Cordy is the longest running charecter. The same would go with Buffy if she appears on Angel this season.
