I dont know if there is a thread about this already but I didnt find one...

I got the first part of the Old friends comic the other day and i have to say its kind of confusing. I dont know if any of you read it yet but I got some questions...

So are there 2 Spikes??? Does good Spike kill ''bad Spike''?? Maybe Im just too stupid to get it but Im really confused...

I read this and thought is was crapola.

Obviously there are things in it that you won't discover until later but i just felt this was a poor opener.
Angel seemed bland, OK, that might be how he is supposed to seem, but man, i expect more.
Gunn, WTF, i didn't like the idea of him being a human investigator.....or whatever,,,and what the hell was this...

Gunn: No. Nothing. Until i saw that picture on the news. Got a copy from a friend on the cops.
Angel: You have friends on the cops.
(beat)
Angel: Plus ca Change......
(beat)
Angel: What? I speak French.........some.

this whole scene to me stank. Its as if whoever wrote it doesnt understand these characters.

The Spike thing, i knew it was a doppelganger straight away.......i havent worked out who or how, but to be frankfully honest....i wont care.

This comic sucked....

OHH, and another thing.
The cover i got was Angel and Illyria, now to me, on the first cover of the first comic,(i know there was multiple comic front pages) it shouldnt be a character thats NOT in the first bit.
That cover mislead me into believing Illy would be in there.
Now, granted she's probably in later, but for the first one, it should have been Angel/Spike or Angel/Gunn....as well as the others.

Actually it's intreging as to what is actually going on, as Angel, seemed very cold and abrupt towards Gunn but to me it was out of character for Angel, plus the cover issue well they did it with the first story as well by placing Cordy on the last issue, which was inapropriate cos she died.
I''l hold off my judgement till the last issue cos maybe there is an explanation for things.Maybe Angel was disgruntled cos he didn't get what he wanted from the Gypies so they carried his reaction off into the next story?
