I know it would have been kind of strange to have two episodes that were so similar on the shows, but would you like to have seen an Angel version of "Once More, With Feeling"? I think that it would be awesome, personally, though it would have a much different tone than the Buffy one.
 
No, one was enough. Plus they had Lorne read people as they sang throughout the series, think that was enough musical interludes for a show like Angel. Plus they had the puppets instead (which is my favourite episode of Angel).

I would have loved that. Tabula Rasa and Spin the Bottle were pretty similar, but that worked just fine.

I wonder how that could have been done though, since the characters were displayed as having bad singing voices. I suppose that could have been part of some spell, for them to have better voices.
 
Unfortunately, it was established in the couple of episodes where he sang for Lorne that Angel is severely musically deficient, meaning that he couldn't carry a tune in a wheelbarrow, much less a bucket. Having him spontaneously burst into song would be both funny and horrifying, but in no way entertaining.
 
I'm not sure.. As someone already said, most of the characters in Angel were depicted as having bad singing voices, so I'm not sure if that would've worked out.
 
I would have loved to have seen an Angel version of it, but OMWF fitted in with BUffy season 6 where as Angel was on Season 3 then and that was just when Angel was starting to get darker so i don't know if the musical would have fitted in with the show as much as it did with Buffy.
 
I don't know about the rest of the cast, but there is one moment in "A Hole in the World" where we see that J. August Richards has a great singing voice. He's singing a Gilbert & Sullivan song (I think that's what it is) and it's just gorgeous. Then when he realizes Wes is at the door he quickly changes to a rap piece - that was hilarious.

But no, I would not have wanted to see a musical version. It just doesn't fit with the darker tone of AtS.

I have the impression that Waiting In The Wings is AtS version of OMWF.
 
Music plays a much larger role in Angel than Buffy. In Buffy, aside from OMWF, music isn't very important. Angel uses it as an expression of an individuals soul (Caritas!). So while the two shows approached the use of music very differently, I would have loved a Angel version of OMWF and think it could have worked very well

And who doesn't want to have an episode where Andy Hallet is singing all episode? I sure would
 
I wouldn't have wanted a musical episode of "Angel". The show is much darker and adult than BtVS, so it would have been out of place in any season.

I was kind of thinking the same thing about Buffy when I heard there would be a musical. But it worked.

Unless of course an atomic bomb went off right before Angel's solo, leaving Lorne to fill his place. "He tries to fulfill that Broadway dream. Tough sledding, but one day, he's working in the chorus when the big star blows everyone to smithereens."

This is pretty much what I feel, I don't think a musical would have been the right thing for Angel, I just can't see it and I wouldn't want to. Besides after seeing it on Buffy it would have been silly to see it on Angel too
 
Nah. Lorne sang, Angel sang, others sang... They all sang at one time or another, but how many mystical demons can somehow me summoned on accident to make everyone sing?

The point of having two different show is to have two different shows. Not to make two similar shows at different times. Yeah, Tabula Rasa and Spin the Bottle were similar, but in StB they didn't completely lose their memories, just regressed in their memories. They still knew who they were, for the most part. They were very different, but both dealt with memory loss.
