nah . i just dont like him... i cant really say i didnt like the way he treated Buffy.. I mean look at Angel... turning all Angelus on Buffy.. but i guess thats totally different with Angelus being different to Angel... where as Riley was just stupid.. and dont get me started on Parker... *growl*

Angel actually has a PERSONALITY...you might have to dig for it, but it's in there somewhere. He's got issues. He's just a general good character. He's got a lot to him, a lot to figure out.

Riley...doesn't. And when they decided to give Riley feelings, it was all based on, "My girlfriend's a freakin' superhero and I have issues with that." WTF?! Is he twelve?! GET OVER IT, DOUCHEBAG. kthnx.

Angel all the way.

I was actually a fan of the Buffy/Riley ship back in season 4, probably because the lack of Angel around, but ultimately, after Riley's departure, I was heading back to the ol' Angel/Buffy shippage.
 
I liked Angel a whole lot better than Riley. They should have just kept Riley as a regular guy instead of having him be in The Initiative. Not to mention everything that happened with his character in season 5.

I agree but even as a regular guy, I wouldn't have liked him very much.
 
im not totally sure how i feel baout Riley i mean he was a nice guy but he just didnt really do it for me.where as Angel did,he had that whole tortured soul thing going on,he was always brooding,plus he is totally hot!!!!
i'll admit Riley was hot,he definately had a nice body going for him,but i found his character a bit boring and needy,its like he needed Buffy to always need his help,and well we all know that Buffy isnt exactly helpless.
 
In terms of love interest with Buffy I'd deffinately say Angel...as a person...or thing if you may call Angel that...it would be Angel too. Cause I just love his personality and his relationship with Buffy. But I still prefer Spuffy over them. 😀
 
i liked riley (he punched out parker, so he gets points for that), but angel was a much more interesting character. plus, i think DB is a better actor than MB.
 
why does everyone hate Riley? It seems most do.

I liked him, I felt sorry for him, just cos he wasnt a creature of the night and dark like Angel & Spike. He did love Buffy very much and she kept him at a distance all the time. he would of been there for her and supported her, yes he went of with the skanky vamps but he was mixed up. He gave up everything for buffy.

he was right to leave , why stick around where your not wanted.

I rewatched Freshman today and cringed when Riley came on. He's so wooden and tried too hard...just not a good character. Could have done without him.

I prefer Angel. At least there was chemistry.
 
Given the choice between the two, I would have to say Riley, just to watch Sam kick his ass when he tries to steal Spike's girl. Unsuccessfully, of course.

We all have sorta missed one very important thing about Riley: whatever Buffy really felt for him, her friends accepted, admired, and liked him. With Riley, Buffy didn't have to sneak around to see him, of meet him for secret trysts in grave yards and huge old mansions that seemed to only have one room and a curtain instead of a front door. Riley was Buffy's one public boyfriend.
 
Which also makes him her one BORING boyfriend. I was watching The Initiative and he was SOOOO gay in that episode! Like how he's trying to ask Buffy to dance & he offers her cheese? What's up with that? And how he's like 'Wow. I guess I do like her after all!' D**khead.

Oh, but you know what quote I really hate? "What kind of girl wants to date a guy who's a regular joe by day & a demon fighter by night."

If I didn't already hate him *cough, unlikely, cough* then that's when I started.
