Angel Season 2 vs. Buffy Season 5 - The WB

Both seasons were the highlight of my childhood in 2000-2001. But which season did you watch the most, for those who watched both seasons during their original airings.

I've seen both of them a few times, but personally I enjoy S2 of Angel more. I really, really like seasons 1-3 of the Angel series, even though "The Gift" was incredible.

I think I stopped watching Buffy about half-way through Season 4 when it was originally on. I think I only watched one episode of Angel when it aired. I kept up with Buffy slightly through hear-say but I think I faded off into my youthful-wasteful days. I knew nothing about Angel or how the show played out. It was until I hit somewhere in my 20's again until I would pick Buffy back up and once I completed that show (knowing that it co-ran during Angel) I then watched Angel. I do recall waiting for Angel Season 5's dvd release so I could complete the show.

I had the unfortunate disability of a UK viewer: in that Angel got moved around so many channels with very little advertising that it was near impossible for me to watch angel consistently.

However, while terrestrial tv had buffy on bbc 2 I got sky whilst bbc 2 was on series 3/4 and as such my watching of series 5 was confusing. I watched it on sky when it was 25% of the way through and was very confused about who or what dawn was. At the time, I thought that she was a long lost sister who'd lived with their dad before hand.

So in conclusion I couldn't really watch any show properly, however since I own them on video and dvd I'd guesstimate I'd have followed angel more 🙂

I didn't watch it as it was coming out but I have watched them concurrently before. And BS5 wins by a HUGE margin. AS2 is great, definitely, but it didn't have the massive, epic, season-long storyline that involved 2 brand new characters, one being a God and one being a sister.
