Angel Season 5 vs. Buffy Season 7

While I do love season 5 of Ats, I recognize a lot of that love is due to my love for Spike and Spangel interactions. Season 5 is my favorite season of Ats, but with that being said... while I enjoyed Ats, I didn't love it NEARLY as much as Buffy. Buffy season 7 is so much better. Despite all it's flaws, it's still very interesting. It has good stand alone episodes and it has great episodes to the overall picture. As Username said just above me, the real story of Ats season 5 didn't start until the second to last episode of the season. That's just a bit pathetic to me. I don't care if it was a rushed series finale... but it wasn't even that... it felt like they didn't really think out the season plot until the end.

Angel Season Five. Because every character had an arc and an important part to play in the finale. Buffy S7 only focused on Buffy, Spike, Wood and to a little extent Willow and Giles. Had one special episode about Anya and Dawn. By the last four episodes, Xander, Willow, Giles, Anya and Dawn were nothing but background characters that didn't matter at all. Oh, and they were painted as backstabbing betrayers with no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

I hate when I'm bitter.
 
Can I dislike them both equally?

Both are speckled with great eps here and there but that doesn't cover up the overwhelming not-goodness of each season. Both went against the ethos of their respective show. I missed the Scoobies. I missed the heroism. Hell, I missed the Hyperion!
 
I Liked Buffy Season 7 Until All The Potential's, So I Say Angel Season 5 🙂
