Angel season 6 section?

I was wondering if there will be an Angel season 6 section under season 5 as there is for Buffy season 8?

Feels important enough... it was mentioned somewhere that After the Fall will probably run for more than 12 issues, so this thing will be going over a year. Pretty exciting having both Buffy and Angel back at the same time; new canonical stories to look forward to.

I guess the first question would be Is it Season 6?

Until Joss Whedon starts calling it such, how can we?

At the end of the comic if you read what they wrote it basically says it's season 6 ... does it not..?

"The next day, Joss picked up the comic and read it. And contacted me and told me that in Brian, he saw a writer who captured the voices of his characters so perfectly that he could finally envision making an "Angel: Season six" comic, if Brian would work with him on it."

IDW have their own reasons for saying the things they say. There's only one word that matters here, if you ask me. Show me Joss calling After the Fall Season 6, because if you click the link in the post above you can hear him saying "not really".

If we can't have an "Angel Season 6" section with the rest of the Angel sections, how about an "Angel: After The Fall" section with the rest of the other Angel sections?

First of all, who's this "We" of which you speak? Joss Whedon says Angel: After the Fall is not Season 6. Who is this "we" you speak of who wants to tell Joss to piss off, and "we" (whoever that is) will call it Season 6 no matter what he thinks?

I think "we" meaning people of this forum, possibly having a new forum section for the new Angel comic, whether it be called Season 6 or to be more accurate, After the Fall.

First, who thinks there should be a section for After the Fall? Argue the name after, yeah.

Very well then..."We" being at least 3, I'll direct the PTB to this thread, and I imagine it will be considered. If you're wondering who's speaking up against AatF being called Season 6 though, I confess.

To me if Joss says AatF is not Season 6, then calling it so is kind of disrespectful, and makes whoever does it it seem (let's be kind and say) uninformed.

I'll tell you what. I'll put up a poll and we'll see what exactly is going on.

The staff talked about this a while back and decided that since it was not canon, it would not be given a Season Six forum. The Comics forum will be the appropriate place to discuss it.

Actually, small point, but it is canon, it's just not canon that it is Season 6.

I just voted for do it and call it After the Fall.

I don't think After the Fall threads NEED to be sorted into their own area, but it is one of the biggest developments in the Whedonverse right now. This place already has areas for every season of the show and a lot of other stuff, and I'm gonna want to talk about After the Fall more than those old episodes.

Okay, just read your posts about it being canon. I don't really see the difference. If the comic was the same but they put "Season 6" in the title, it would then be important enough to warrant its own area here?

I think Buffy Season 8 could have been called anything else. It isn't actually the eighth season - it's a different medium and it's going to be 3+ years long perhaps, which a TV season ain't. They probably only called it Season 8 to let people know that it isn't just another Buffy comic - it's the official continuation of the show's storyline.

After the Fall is the same thing for Angel. Canon, plotted out by Joss, continuing where the show left off. They just didn't want to call it Season 6, because what a dumb name. But if it was Season 6 it really would just be a name thing - a monthly comic series is not a season.

I voted B. I think it should have a special place outside of the 'comics' section. It just doesn't have to be season 6, as long as it has a section. 🙂 Unless of course you say no. 😉

My vote is for a Angel After the Fall forum. It is canon, just not a season... yet. But don't mind really, they'll just be loads of Angel ATF threads popping up in here, like in Season 8.
