Was there supposed to be a season six?

I never watched Angel when it was on so I probably missed the news, but what were the plans after season five? I just ask because I was looking at the character Eve on another site and it stated that she was rumoured to become a regular on the show, had it continued.

I think they had set up storylines in season 5 to continue if there was a season 6, like they were rumoured to be getting Oz back to teach Nina how to controll her wolf side, Seth Green had not be asked about it but I think they were thinking about it. Another storyline I remember hearing about was but I don't know if it was true or not but I read somewhere they were going to have Willow come in a do something with Illyria like make her and Fred share a body, does anyone else remember that one, cuz as I am writing it I am becoming less sure lol!

I heard that they were going to escape by going in a portal or something.

Oz (seth green) was going to return as a regular.

They were going to separate Fred from Illyria somehow.

Never heard about the eve thing.

I also heard that it was going to be the last season anyway.

These are just rumours so dont hold me to em that they were gonna happen.

There were supposed to be 6 seasons. That's why there were the Save Angel campaigns that raised $40,000 for advertisments, blood drives, and semi billboards that drove through Hollywood for months asking another network to pick it up. It's why some people boycott the WB.

Season 6 was going to be post apocalyptic LA that was a desert and Angel would have defeated Wolfram and Heart.

Season 6 was planned; Oz was to return, Buffy would make an appearance or two (maybe there would be an arc with her), IIlyria and Fred would be seperated. But the show got cancelled, so, there...

I'd love to see Joss work this all out in a Fray-length graphic novel. That lame IDW Angel comic doesn't count. Personally, I'd rather have new Joss-penned Angel comics than Serenity or Buffy in Italy. Ah well...

A Joss-penned Angel would be awesome....
The cancellation of Angel was very unexpected. I think it was announced around the fourth or fifth episode into season five. And totally a shocker, so I assume that there were definitely plans to continue on.

Actually it was Feb 13th and I think one or two episodes or maybe days after Smile Time (was that the ep name? I forget). Everyone was saying "Angel has been cancelled despite recent excellent episodes such as Smile Time".

Ooh, way to go fact master! 🙂 Thanks, I guess I was way off base there.

But in all respects, it was during the middle of the season, despiste it's popularity. Good job, Xander!

And I remember hearing that it was Joss that kept asking if they were gonna get picked up, cuz he wanted to know early and the guy in charge said no, so it was cancelled but the season was doing really well and it should not have been cancelled. The guy who said no also got fired, and the WB have said since that it was a mistake on their part!

Edit: I apologise for how badly this is written, reading it back it sounds weird!

Yep, I've heard all of that, too.
But the real question is...who else is shocked that ABC cancelled Alias? I am! I mean, it was doing real good up until the dumbasses at ABC put it in the Thursday timeslot.

I wasn't really, I mean Sydney is PREGNANT! It kinda ruined the show for me to tell the truth.

And normally they change timeslots after they already decide the show needs to be killed someway. Although, I haven't ever watched it in its new time slot. The one right before the change was really good though.

Exactly. If a show is doing really well in a current timeslot, then why change it? idk...it pisses me off.
Sorta Like Angel. Angel was doing phenominal, and the WB cuts it!

Those hoes... Had to kill Angel to make way for more teen shows like Everwood and such.

I heard about that Illyria/Fred thing, but wasn't Fred's soul DESTROYED when resurrecting Illyria? That's what they said.

I actually thought it had gone down hill since the fourth season, when they completely avoided the Rambaldi storyline until the end...and the whole APO thing didn't really do it for me. Also, the killing off of Vaughn. Blah.

About "Angel" - I was...wow...really disappointed when they did that. As everyone said before, it'd had been doing great. Why didn't other networks pick it up?

Milo Giacomo Rambaldi is a fictional character from the TV series Alias. The work of Rambaldi, often centuries ahead of its time and tied to prophecy, plays a central role in Alias.

Rambaldi's technological developments are sought after by numerous governments and rogue organizations in the series. The character of Arvin Sloane in Alias is generally obsessed with obtaining Rambaldi's work and unlocking its secrets. The subplot pushes Alias into the genre of science fiction, or more accurately, Clockpunk.

I love wikipedia. You wouldn't see this kinda entry in the Encyclopedia Britannica, heh.

I heard that there would be a sixth and final season where Buffy returns, Oz coming to help Nina, Willow helping to seperate Illyria and Fred, the remaining gang reviving Wesley with the help of Giles. Than it got cancelled but I figured some of the above could be made into TV Movies. Any news from them?
