Angel to be aired on Sundays

On Sunday, the WB will serve up first-season repeats of "Gilmore Girls" at 7 p.m., a strategy it used to great effect a few seasons back with "7th Heaven." Veteran drama "Charmed" will move off Thursday to the Sunday 8 p.m. berth, with "Angel" rounding out the night at 10 p.m.

I'm just a little confused... So the WB will be showing repeats of 'Angel' from season one? If so, that's great because I wanted to get them on tape, as I do not have 'Angel' episodes on tape. I have one other question... will they be showing the entire season, or just random episodes? Thanks for the info otherwise!😀
 
Whoops! I'm an idiot. I just went to Yahoo! and reread the article. I noticed that they weren't speaking of doing repeats of "Angel". I was thinking that because they said they were showing repeats of "Gilmore Girls" on Sunday. My mistake.🙁
 
Angel will really now be aired at 9pm on Sundays which means going against ABC`s Alias and the FOX show that will take X-Files`s tile slot.

With that move, I really sense that the WB wants to end Angel for sure.
 
Yes, they really screwed Angel over. Alias is a more watched show than Angel, and they know that. I watch Alias as well. It doesn't matter much for me, because I tape both shows anyways. I just think it's a bad move by the WB. What's with "Charmed" on Sunday? It seems like a weird day to have that show on.::thumb::
 
With the departure of The X-Files, the Sunday night slot sure needs its fix of supernatural, and I think that is part of why The WB made the move.

Charmed's new 8pm slot isn't that bad but it will compete againts The Simpsons and Ed.

Angel is doomed! 🙁
 
But it is certain that the UPN would picked up "Angel" if it is canceled by the WB, is it not? I pray for the day the UPN has "Angel" because I am dying for another crossover episode. ::drool::

I guess "Charmed" and "Angel" would be a good match for each other; being that they're both supernatural programs.

I totally agree with you FivebyFiveB. I went to the futon critic.com earlier and I couldn't believe what the WB is doing. I watch Alias also, but ABCFAM shows the re-runs on Fridays so I'll be missing Alias on Sundays starting in the fall. Charmed on Sunday? I think that is stupid. I think that Charmed has a nice time slot. I hope that they are not trying to get rid of it. 😡 A big change like that can hurt a tv show. Oh well, we will know the full story tomorrow when the WB announces the fall lineup for sure. Also since Buffy is ending next year, I don't know if Angel will go to UPN.

That's right April Bot. I just forgot about BtVS ending soon, because I avoided going into threads about that. I didn't want to think about BtVS stopping, so I don't know the whole story there. So if "Angel" ends because of this move to Sundays, there will be no other network to pick it up?! Damn, this sucks totally.😡 "Angel" is one of the WB's best programs; why the hell would they want to end it? The WB is sh** without such great shows as "Angel" is. Excuse my language, but it is true.

"Charmed" had a great time slot for itself on Thursdays, IMO. This new day slot will either help it or destroy it. "Charmed" has not been so great this year, but I still don't want it to end. The WB majorly have screwed up "Charmed" anyway.
 
Oh boy, This isn;t good, What is the WB thinking? Angel doesn't stand a chance, Unless of course, People dont watch Alas and Stuff, Come on lets make Angel work and stay, if teh WB Drops Angel, I won't be a happy camper.
 
Now that I thought about it, I think one of the major reasons for the Charmed change is that it will be the last season of FRIENDS. Meaning that NBC will put all the stunts to make it really really big before the farewell. So I think the WB preferred to move Charmed on a safer night.

As for moving Angel, I really don't know!!! It is not like the Monday 9pm slot next year is packed! Ally McBeal will be over so...
 
Good point, But like, Sunday.. Why c ouldnt it be moved to like.. Wensday? That would have been better.
 
Dawn Summers, that's right! "Ally McBeal" is ending this year; this would have been a perfect time slot to keep "Angel" in. It's ratings would have been just as good, if not greater, than there are now. There isn't much of competition for the WB there. Then again, maybe it's all just strategy.

Now I understand why the WB moved "Charmed" to Sunday. I don't think it's a bad move, it just seemed like a weird day for "Charmed". I'm so use to it being on Thursdays. 🙂 Will "Friends" be aired in the soon-to-be old "Charmed" time slot? Right now they are on the same day, but different times.
 
Didn't think of that - but you're right!

They really should imo have moved it back to Wednesday, but looks like they picked good Wednesday shows for next season 🙂
 
Ooo...CSI is hard to beat. Sunday was a good move for Charmed after all. Thanks for posting the news from the WB, Buffy Summers.🙂

IMO, I don't want the UPN getting "Angel" either. The WB takes better care of their shows than the UPN ever could.😉
 
Well, I really don't know what to say. Buffy Summers, thanks for posting the news for S4. I think that we all know who will descend into darkness.🙁 I think that Charmed and Angel will do okay in the Sunday slot. The only thing that sucks is that CBS usually shows some good movies on Sunday nights. Speaking of CBS, CSI rocks!! Are they still going to do CSI Miami?😕
 
I really don't know what to think right now. It really all depends on what else is scheduled during those time slots (for both "Charmed" and "Angel", since I'm big fans of both) that'll determine if they do good or not. With the "X-Files" gone, it won't have too much competition, and I think hooking up "Charmed" and "Angel" is better than hooking up "7th Heaven" and "Angel". Both "Charmed" and "Angel" have dedicated fan bases, so I hope that both shows, being a lead in and lead out, respectively, might have the chance to do each other's ratings some good.
 
Honestly! Sometimes the WB can be real babies! It's been a year or so since the WB lost Buffy to UPN. Get over it!

Why don't they just relinquish Angel's reins to UPN?
