Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain, who wrote for Angel season 4 and 5, are joining the Vampire Diaries writing staff
 
This is great news. I am a very big fan of this show and this is a positive to me. 🙂
 
I wasn't too fond of their episodes in Angel...🙁 but hopefully that won't be the case for VD...I love that show.
 
Is Vampire Diaries any good? I feel like it might be another cheesy play off the recent vampire craze. Should I watch it?

It is very good it was written in the early 90's. The show is different but the characters are very interesting. It isnt just vampires. Plus if you are a fan of Spike I think you may love Damon 😉

That's interesting. I guess this gives me an excuse to watched Vampire Diaries. Good thing we just got the first season at work lol yay free movies!
 
Cool! I have to admit a dangerous obsession with this show. Most of it comes from the beauty and awesomeness that is Damon Salvatore, but the writing's growing on me, too. Hopefully it'll get even better.

good for VD, maybe it'll lift the show. Whenever I've tried to watch it I just start to laugh because I think it's so hysterically bad 🙂
 
VD is basically like a teen version of True Blood. The beginning of the season wasnt that great but it only got better by the end.

I see what people mean by that but I actually enjoyed VD more with a first watch.
Wahey another plus to watching the Vampire Diaries. I really hope season 2 is as good as season 1 was. Great to see Sarah Fain and Elizabeth Craft writing as I've seen them on Lie To Me (I think) and the episodes have always been top notch.

Eeek, I'm almost afraid to start watching then because I absolutely love True Blood and think it's very smart. Not just another vampire romance.
 
Awsome I love that show. It's in my opinion the best vamp show since Buffy & Angel. I am looking forward to seeing their work on VD.
 
I am loving The Vampire Diaries (not like i do Buffy & Angel), and can't wait to see what they come up with for the show 🙂
 
Can anyone name some of the episodes they wrote for Angel? I probably won't check out TVD anyway, but I'm curious, lol.
 
For me the content of the episodes is better in most of True Blood; but The Vampire Diaries has a superior overall story.

I really wanna sit down and have a beer with Damon; even though he'd probably end up killing me for out drinking him. Irish drunks beats Italians every time, vampire constitution be damned.

I agree about the stories. I have been watching true blood straight through only watched like 3 eps months before love it but when I think about it the vampire diaries is stronger story wise.
