First, the good news. I spoke with Garth Ancier, the new CEO of the WB, and he says he's committed to trying to bring Angel back in teleflick form. When I asked if he agreed with the decision to cut Angel loose, he replied: "I wasn't there. I don't know what choices the network really had in terms of new programming. But I certainly recognize and appreciate the loyal fan base of that show. We've had serious conversation to do some Angel movies, and that's a definite way to go, as long Joss Whedon and David Boreanaz ultimately feel that they want to embrace that as well."

According to insiders, the movies could each focus on one of the characters, seeing what happened to them after we last left off--possibly because David might not be as willing as the other castmembers.

I asked Ancier if he thinks this will actually happen. "Probably...I think so," he answered. "I haven't had a conversation with the creative forces yet, but I'm hopeful that will happen. I think the fans would love it. The show was great quality, and I don't know the specifics of why it's back or not, but if there's a way to keep it alive for the huge fan base, that would be great."

I'll definitely join the fan club...lol. Too bad there is nothing said that hasn't been said before. I'll believe it when I see some action. Thanks for the post though Magui.
 
Hmmm....I dunno....if they actually go ahead with this and DB isn't involved, would any of you even watch?

I'd watch, simply because it's Whedonverse stuff, and I'd be curious on how they'd pull the stories off. Of course, I wouldn't be very happy at all if the WB STILL went ahead with the projects despite the glaring lack of DB, but kept the ANGEL name tagged to these flicks....just to try to lure the fanbase back. That would be dirty pool indeed.

There probably won't be an Angel movie in the near future. DB seems to be following the SMG road, ie fleeing as far as possible from the character and fanbase that made him what he is today. Maybe if he fails miserably at films, he'll come back, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up.
 
He is not acting like SMG,he said he didn't want to do ''TV'' movies,but he is not running away from his character like Sarah did. I think he would do them anyways. And he is not like Sarah,he has a child...Sarah doesn't
 
Yeah....DB would do the TV gig again....for a price of course.

I wonder if he'd ask for an unreasonable amount, and end up pricing himself out of the whole deal. Yet AGAIN, we'd end up without DB.

We're talking about DB,not Angelus remember?😛...DB= nice guy. Okay,anyway,so what if he'd want a lot of money?.He'd deserve it...
 
LOL! Hey....I think he deserves to be paid...sure. But there's a diff between asking for a LOT of money, and asking for TOO MUCH money. 😛

I just hope EVERYONE involved does the right thing, and just get the ball rolling. Levin's not there anymore....so things should be ok.

Hope it'll work..and if DB needs more money I could always add a few bucks to his salary..as long as we got a good shower scene😉
