how about the people who worked at Wolfram and Hart? I mean I'm surely not all of them were evil and I'm sure that a fair few of them probably wanted out. What better would there be then erasing the senior partners if they were the demons trying to controll you and your workplace (Lindsay and Lilah both worked against them - but hey they ended up dead?)

Here's the way I would write a fanfic showing how Angel's Army could arrive at the alley.
Lorne walks through a darkened street of Los Angeles after shooting Lindsey. He's reflecting on his decision to walk away from Angel and the others knowing he's leaving them to certain peril. He decides he can't do it.
He goes to his friend Augie the psychic. She decides to help. The 2 of them go to the "Mmm Angel" sisters, and gets them onboard. They contact Cordelia in a kind of seance thing linking the 5 psychic powers (Lorne, Augie, the 3 sisters) and beg her as a higher power to get involved. The spiritual essence of Cordelia finally agrees in spite of instructions from the powers. She contacts anyone in the LA area who might be willing or able to help Angel, and all these potential Angel allies find themselves being drawn to the alley.

Well...seeing as this thread seems to be running out of people to add to the army, I'll do that - just for amusement purposes. 🙂
I thought of a nifty way to put Faith, Dana, Willow and Kennedy close enough to the alley to help.
When the slayers took Dana, they took her to a Watcher retreat in Arizona (there's a watcher retreat in the Catskills, so there can be one in Arizonona, is my reasoning). The idea is to put Dana in a secluded spot, then try to reform her there.
But let's get to Faith...Buffy figures the best way to encourage Faith's new found willingness to accept responsibillity is to make her responsible. She puts Faith in charge of Dana. Faith reaches a point with Dana where she decides she needs to see the real world. The two of them hop on a watcher motor-cycle, and decide to go on a road trip. Faith is going to take Dana to LA to visit her buddy Angel. Dana is a little hesitant in view of the past, but Faith tells her she has to face her demons (in this case literally).
Meanwhile over in Italy Buffy hears about this, and she freaks out. She sends Willow and Kennedy to LA to retrieve Dana. Willow is glad to do this, because she wants to know what the problem was with Fred, Angel called Giles about. She starts to talk about it with Kennedy, telling her what a great girl Fred is. Kennedy gets jealous.
Just as they all enter LA, Cordelia's message zaps into their collective brains, and they know Angel's in trouble.
Hey, if you actually like this idea Eunsoma, you can take the bits you like, and write a fanfic for the fanfic forum if you want. I'll read it. 🙂

Head of W+H Italy. She liked Angel and Spike,. She has power over people. She could help. Depending on who she sides with.
The demon from Blood Money. Didnt seem overly evil. Seemed to have some respect for Angel. Still would probably stay out of it though.
Virginia Bryce. Her dad was powerful. She loved Wes.
Riley and Graham and the boys. - To save the world. Thats what they do.
Demons from the Ring. If they wanted to get involved.
Harry - Knows a lot of demons. Maybe they can help.
Bethany - Might help.
I think Harmony is more likely to side with whoever is winning.
Whistler - Not a fighter.
Nina - Useless
Oz - Same
Landok - Probably not. He'll be too busy protecting Pylea.
Kate - Possibly.
Jhiera - Unlikely
Lorne - Not so sure.
Lindsay - When Lilah and Holland died, they came back. They ssid their contracts went way beyond death. Maybe the same for Lindsay. But then he probably wouldnt wanna help since Lorne killed him.
