It means that she pulled away for Riley but looking back she didn't even love Riley all the way so we can't use that as a telling sign that she loved Spike or doesn't love Angel.

Nor is it a telltale sign that she loved Angel and didn't love Spike.

Like I said - there is no clear answer over which vampire Buffy preferred. My personal opinion? I recall her murmuring to herself that she would love to see Angel and Spike wrestle each other, while covered in oil. This tells me that she preferred both vampires. I guess the B/A fans or the B/S fans have other opinions.

Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of the ending, partly due to Angel's appearance. He took focus off the main characters, along with the potentials. The whole scene seemed quite awkward, like there was nothing to say/could say about their relationship. Although I guess it was important that Angel found out about the Buffy/Spike relationship, perhaps that could have been a story arc earlier on in the season.

I agree totally.. the scene just had wrong timing... it had to happend especially since spike was going to angel so I guess it was more of a last minute thing... they just put it in for that maybe..

It would have been nice to see more of Angel in the BtVS finale. After all, he was a major character for three seasons.

I don't think that the writers did him justice. It was kind of lack-luster.

And to put my two cents in on the current conversation: I agree LadyLavinia. There really wasn't a clear answer. It is left up for the imaginations of viewers or to be further explained on the Angel series (which has now ended, so no answers there) or in a movie. I do not see a movie happening, so I think that it's just up to us. Whatevery you think, that's just fine.
