This might have been discussed before, but anyone else notice that Angel (while on Buffy at least) has a serious death wish? The obvious suicide attempt was in "Amends", but the way he talked in "Becoming" indicated that he was hoping that awakening Acathla would end the pain of remembering his love for Buffy. And then there was his version of "suicide-by-cop" when he tried to goad Buffy into killing him in "Angel".

Anyone else think the same? And did he get over this in his own series?

Angel is loaded with remorse, struggles for forgiveness, but can not forgive himself, moreover, he thinks that he doesn't deserve forgiveness. The side effect of this may be "a death wish" on his side. To be honest, I didn't quite bring myself to give a name to it before, but "death wish" may cover it. Although, I'd like to hear more thoughts and theories on that.

I somewhat agree with you. I know Angel has lots of guilt over what he's done, but if he was gonna kill himself he would have done it when he was wandering around by himself for 100 years with no friends or anyone.
