In the episode where Gwen electrocutes Angel, instead of killing him, she actually got his heart beating again. I was so thrilled when they were hyping this episode on TV since I thought there'd be something new coming from it. Unfortunately, this very interesting plot wasn't expanded upon. As far as I know, Angel's heart is supposed to still be beating or did that change? Was this subplot ever furthered and I wasn't paying attention or did it get left unresolved?
 
My mom was really, well...pi**ed would be the word to use...lol...
It was very stupid, she starts his heart up, and then they kiss...then nothing...I seriously dont get it...weird...
 
Well, In my opinion she did get his heart beating, but after she stopped touching him everything went back to normal. Since Gwens abilties allow her to conduct an electrical charge from her finger tips when she touched angel it was sort of those things (I forget what they are called) when the doctors rub together the two blocks and yell "Clear!", exserting a powerful electrical shock capable of bringing people back to conciousness or jumpstaring their system. In Angels case, since he was a Vampire Gwens power did the same thing, shocking his system back up for a short while, but after she broke the connection (By removing her hands and breaking the electrical current) Angels body shut down to its previous dead state 😀

Your spin has hit it right on the head I thinks WiccanSlayer. It was interesting when his heart actually did beat, it was weird but nifty at the same time.
 
I think when he felt his heart beat, he must've felt summat else, which made him kiss her, but as soon as his heart stopped he didn't feel anything. It was kinda like a thank you (& a very nice one if I do say so!)
 
I agree with WiccanSlayer and even though I thought the kiss was pretty pointless and it should have been cleared up...I think it happened because Angel felt a kind of elation because his heart hadn't beat in so long and Gwen was the only one there for him to share it with.
 
I did think it was kinda weird how his heart just started beating then stopped. Waht was the point of making is heart beat? Why didn't it keep beating? Would've been cool to see what could have happened.(Well...IWRY took care of that) I agree with David_Dushku about the kiss. A extremely nice thank you!

I'm going with WiccanSlayer on this. Your heart beats because of a natural electrical impulse within your body, that's why shocking a person can restart their heart, and why a pace maker can shock the heart back into a natural rythym. She shocked his heart into beating, but being dead, his body does not generate the electrical impulse to keep it beating. So when the connection was broke, his heart once again stopped beating.
 
wait... since he was dead for over 200 years... wouldn't his heart be too... dead(?) to be revived using a electric shock?
 
the heart does start beating everytime the doctors use the electrical pad things, but it doesn't always keep going if it's too late... I think it's just a tad bit too late for Angel.
 
Hah, I remember that, The WB used that as one of their "misguiding" promos to promote that episode.

Yeah, I agree with you guys. WiccanSlayer hit the target, it beat because it was "electrified", and then it went back to being dead.. or undead.. whichever!
