Angel's name

Hi Volks!

I'm looking for Angel's/Angelus' name BEFORE he became a vampire.
I not sure it was ever mentioned, but if it was i'm sure you can tell me. I would be really happy if somebody can help me...

I'm sure that his first name was given as Liam. I don't know about his family name though. Interesting because I think that Liam can be a shortened version of William which (as we all know) is Spike's real first name...coincidence?

Liam is the Irish equivilant of William, so basically they have the same name.
