My theory agrees with pretty much everyone, Angel will be corrupted. I mean there is a reason that Spike will be sent to him and I think it will be to protect Angel from corruption. He will be Angel's guardian Agnel, oh the irony. But I have a feeling that Angel won't be the only one turned to the dark side. Let's look at the facts and the clues that were revealed in "Home". A) Gunn has already bgan to go through changes since his encounter in the white room and he seems to like it. B) Wes seems like he will be willing to do anything to save Lilah's soul, I think he will go to far and accidentlyreturn to his dark side in the proccess of saving her.
So my theory is that the senior partners gave angel the promotion of sortsto make a rift in not only his team ,b ut to turn him inot the obsessed vampire he was in season 2. This pretty much splits the group into two sides, those who want to leave W&H, and those who want to stay and get power hungry. Spike leading Fred and Lorne representing the powers that be, and Angel leading Gunn and Wes representing the senior partners. It has been revealed that Spike and Fred will have some sort of relationship and she doesn't seem like the type that would be taken that far into the dark side. And I can't see Lorne being used as a tool to the senior partners. And SPike seems to be handling his soul a lot better than Angel ever has, as a human he had a whole lot more passionand even as a vampire without a soulhe seemed to have the bigger heart. I think that is what will lead Angel to W&H's side mostly, his competition with Spike, making TPTB plan backfire (again). And this has nothing to do with the topic, but wouldn't this be a good time to bring Lindsey Macdonald back?
