Angels son!

That would be Lullaby and whilst i can't say i had any tears in my eyes i have to admit that it was one powerful episode.
 
Lullaby was a powerful and greatly awesome episode. I, myself did cry because it shows what a mother would do for their child. I was sad that Darla was gone, but she did it for a good cause. I loved Darla more on Angel.
 
I really liked Darla when she was on angel. it was so sad but heart warming when darla staked herself for connor.
 
I didn't cry when I watched this episode but I felt so sorry for Darla, knowing that as soon as she had given birth to Connor she would never be able to love her. I thought Darla was really good in Angel.
 
One of the most poweful scenes in the series.
Earlier in the same show she said that the baby's soul was feeding her but when she staked herself she showed that in that small moment of time 'she' had a soul and did what any mother would do for their child...sacrifice themselves so their child will live.
So no I did not feel sad but instead I had a feeling of peacefullness because Darla died a dignified death.

Yeah but when Angelus was in the cage in season 4 he commented to Connor that Darla was so repulsed having him in her she just had to stake herself.
Too bad the writers didn't try to find a scene where Connor knew the truth after Angel got his soul back about what Darla really did for Connor to live. It would have made the show where Darla comes to Connor as a vision during Jasmine's birth in season 4 all that more intense and intriguing.
 
Well, Holtz knew that Darla staked herself because he was right there watching, so you'd think he told Conner. Plus, Conner never asked Angel or anyone why Darla was dead. I think it was just expected that Conner knew.

No I don't think so. Holtz stepped out into the alley when Angel stood up with Connor. Besides part of Holtz's revenge was to make Angelus suffer so why would he tell Connor that Darla staked himself so he could live? It would have put conflicting feelings in Connor. Holtz told Connor that God had delivered Connor to him and Darla was nothing more then an evil demonic bitch like his father was an evil demonic bastard and Connor's soul purpose was to kill Angelus.
 
Yeah, I guess you're right. But that's still kind of iffy that Conner never knew about Darla staking herself. Or maybe he knew, but he never knew the truth. As it was said before, Angelus told Conner while he was locked up that Darla did that. But Holtz could have seen it all, the audience doesn't know that, just because the camera showed him watching as Angel was holding Conner doesn't scratch the fact that he could have been standing there the whole time.
 
It was, indeed a powerful and emotional scene, but I personaly, and I don't think I'm totaly alone here, wasn't struck with the same feeling of finality as I would've been on any other show where death was some sort of permanent situation. Just how many players in the Buffy/Angel universe have to die and miraculously be resurrected before we develop a "Gee, Angel's dust this week, what'll he do next episode?"

I agree 100%. That's the only thing that I don't like about supernatural shows, that deaths are quite often not permanant. I don't mind the characters coming back from the dead maybe once or twice, but it is overkill sometimes, it just doesn't have the same dramatic effect because they'll probably come back.
 
I cried but to be honest I cried a lot more during the ghost of darla and connor reunion before he killed that innocent girl, and yes i still would cry even if it did turn out to be the first or whatever lol
