Angelus

Was it just me or did Angelus seem way too chit chatty this time around? In season 2 of Buffy he was pure evil and had revenge and death on his mind the whole time. It seems as if this time he was mostly talk and no play. Let me know what you think?

Yeah, he did seem to want to talk a lot more. You know, I always thought that all the time being stuck with a soul kind of made him crazier, but who knows!

Didn't Spike say that once? Anyway, I agree, but then at times I think Angel is crazy because he's really just a multiple personality of Angelus/Liam.

I agree. The sould that Angel was 'cursed' with was really driving Angelus insane. You figure that Angelus had not been out since season two of Buffy, so he had been trapped for a while, after being briefly released in Sunnydale. I think that he was just suffering from post-traumatic stress or something... 🙂

Don't forget that the 'while' includes 100 years trapped in hell. I think that makes it a bit longer than the first time.

I generally think that Angelus talked more this time because it was more effective. Just think of the chaos he caused with Wes/Gunn/Fred before he was even let out of the cage.

Excellent Points. I didn't think about the hell situation. Your right about the Wes/Gunn/Fred triangle as well.

I agree, he did a lot of evil just from the cage, where he couldn't do anything else besides talk.. In some ways that's way more scary, because it's harder to protect yorself from that, when he's out you can fight him with weapons but he really knew what to say to each of them to hurt them and they couldn't protect themselves from that.

yeah everyone was there own worst enemy's at that point. Everyone had secrets that Angel knew about. It wasn't the best time for Angelus to be loose. Even besides the triangle of Fred/Gunn/Wes, you had Wes/Lilah and Cordy/Connor that most didn't know about. It was almost too easy for Angelus to mess with everybody.

i agree that him talking more was very effective indeed, although the fighting and all that can also be effective. also, i think one reason he did a lot of talking is because he was stuck in the cage. he figured he couldn't get out, and if he began to destroy them from the inside by talking, he could get out and wreak his other brand of havoc. what else was he to do anyway; sit around and make up songs?
