Okay, so everybody knows I'm a huge fan of the AB:VH series...is anybody else? LKH's new book was just released on June 27th, and it was amazing. Just like all of her other ones. The whole series is just unbelievably good. I hope someone else is a fan so we can discuss the books.

ME!! ME!! i'm a HUGE fan of these books...i started reading the first one in February, i think, 'cause there was nothing else in the book store i wanted to by, so i got that one...and immediatly fell in love with her world! i'm currently reading Obsidian Butterfly, but i think my fave book so far has been Blue Moon.
i love all the different relationships Anita has formed, with Nathaniel, and Jason and the wereleopards and such, i find it really interesting.

so, even if it's just me and Anita Blake in this disussion, i still wanna know the answer to one question...who do you perfer, Richard, or Jean-Claude? 😉
 
JC definitely. Richard is extremely annoying and self-pitying. You might like him ok now...but just wait. That's all I'm gonna say. Plus, there are other men who enter Anita's life that I like too. I'm just finishing Danse Macabre, and it is really good.

Back to the whole JC vs Richard thing, I just like JC. Come on, a french vampire who is also a Succubus? That is just totally awesome. Plus, JC is evil and he knows it. Richard's got to many emotional problems for me. I'm always like, 'dude, stop whining.'

I have to tell you, another of my fav characters is Edward. He just cracks me up. If you're reading Obsidian Butterfly right now, have you read either of the parts (my favs) where he is telling Anita that he thinks she is his 'soulmate' and/or where she is in the hospital and he says something like "crawling through the grass, threatening to shoot the badguys in the groin...you're such a bad-ass Blake." That part is just funny.
 
no, i haven't gotten to that part yet, it sounds interesting. lol. but i gotta say, i'm loving this book, so far. it's so weird to see Edward playing happy families, when you know what he's capable of, and they have no idea. i can't wait to see where this book is goona lead. i'm currently on chapter 20 and i only started it yesterday! i get so involoved in books, especially these books, that they sorta follow me around and i have to get back to them to see what happens next! i can't wait to see what's got Marks, the cop guy, in such a state, and why he hates Anita so much.

as for the Richard verses Jean-Claude thing, i'm kinda in Richard's corner at the moment. i was a Jean-Claude fan up until Blue Moon, but now i've kinda switched, and will no doubt switch back again! lol! i can't wait to see who else is going to come into her life! OMG! You've got me even more hooked! lol
 
I know you said Richard or JC, but, I like Anita better 😉 Hair that long annoys me, and so do really really tight pants. And c'mon, how can you resist the guns and the penguin collection?

I like JC as a character just a bit better, I haven't read the last two books and Edward is pretty nifty, same as Nathaniel, but in a different way entirely, and...I'm not sure how I feel about all the ardouring, I kind of liked how she was saying, nah let's not have sex to incredibly hot guys all the time. I wanna know more about Mommy Dearest cause she seems pretty cool.
 
I think we are so forgetting someone (well several someones, but since ya'll aren't as far as I am, I won't mention them) but I really like Jason. He cracks me up. That's all I'm gonna mention for now, because Lyri is way behind 😀.

faiths5x5: What book are you up to? I know that you said that you haven't read the last two, but the newest one just came out a little over a week ago. Were you including that one?

I agree with you about liking that she hasn't just become 'loose' but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. There's a lot that happens in Cerulean Sins, Incubus Dreams and Danse Macabre, that shoot the story line to a whole new level. I know its not her fault that she's having to have sex all the time, but it makes for some interesting reading all the same! 😀

Is it just me, or does it seem like the farther along you go, the more sex that happens? 😉
 
oh yeah, definitely! farther along in the series, much more sex!! lol. interesting, though, lol.
i just bought Narcissus in Chains today, and i was looking for Cerulean Sins, but they didn't have it. i've already got Incubus Dreams and i'm dying to get to it...i really wanna read it. i'm starting to buy one book every week, so that i know i'll have the next one when i finish reading whatever one i'm on.

so, things are gonna happen with Jason? i gotta admit, i love Jason, the guy is great! he makes me laugh with his sex obsession! lol. i love Nathaniel too, he's so sweet...at least, he is now, don't know what's gonna happen. and Stephen, although, he hasn't been in the books for a while. and Edward really intrigs me. it's really great to learn more about him.

i find it really interesting that almost all of the guys have long hair in this series...it's something i usually do with characters that i write, and it's kinda cool.
 
I haven't read all of Micah, I didn't have money last time I saw it in the store, and we weren't there long enough to finish, I had about 4 chapters left, and yes the one that just came out too. Yeah, I don't,...Micah's great, but, there's gotta be something else going on....

There's totally more sex happening, I'm just afraid that if it keeps going it will become plots to just advance the sex, and the different types and pushing the boundaries, instead, of how it started, if it makes sense?

I get that, I do, but I think I'd like to see her fight it more, or gain control over it like JC did, and I want to see more of an expansion of her powers, like with, I believe Damian, the vamp she raised, and her raising a whole cemetary without blood that one time? I'm glad she has a...reason to be sleeping with just about every man that walks around, but, at the same time, some of the finer points of the plot, the writing, the characters, the books and the series are going to be left behind the more sex there is, unless the books get bigger...which I totally won't mind, cause LKH writes something awesome, but....

Jason is funny, i do enjoy his involvement in things, and I wish we saw more of Edward and Stephen.

they do don't they?....cept edward, right? its...usually really really long hair too...I dunno bout that. I mean its cool and not something you see everyday, same with the androgynous dudes, i think there are one or two of them occasionally, or at least they're pretty or have make-up on?....which also cool, but everyone has long hair, almost all the time....
