Nope. 😛 His hair is more of a chestnut colour with dark blondish highlights. Jessie's hair is definitely red.

Did you know that Anne wrote Lestat with Rutger Hauer in mind? But by the time the film(s) were made, he was too old to play Lestat.

For those interested...Maven of the Eventide contrasts Queen of the Damned with the two novels it was based on, and the legal and pandering issues that turned the movie into a shallow gimmick that was about the opposite of the novels (and thus flopped, unlike the novels):

I actually LOVE it when my favourite things aren't overwhelmingly popular with the general public. Makes me feel it belongs to me more. Know what I mean? When its just me and a relatively small group of people who adore a thing, I'm quite happy. When I hear that something I love was a "flop" or just a "cult favourite" I am extraordinarily content. It's my baby and belongs to me.😀

@GraceK Interview with the Vampire was published in 1976, so assuming that it took Anne a year to write it, here's a picture of Rutger around 1975. Holy crap! He IS the Lestat she described in her books!!! 😍💋❤
