I watched Anne yesterday and something hit me.
This is the episode that Sarah Michelle Gellar looks her best.
I was watching the scene where Buffy takes on the demons with the Sickle that is used in the opening creds later and she looks so beautiful.
Her figure(ass) is the finest i've seen it.
Before this, she was very pretty and 'do-able' and after thise season, she kinda gets thinner but for this glorious moment of this great season, Sarah Michelle Gellar is f***ing HOT.

What do you guys think?

Ohh and for the episode itself, actually the more I watch it, the more I believe it to being one of my favourites.
 
she looked absolutley gorgeous in that piece they keep in the credits for such a long time. The lighting as well, just awesome. I personally think she looked great for all of season 3.
 
I love that scene where the camera pans around her, and she's all sweaty..grr

I think she looked hottest during season 3.
 
She looks her best, yes. Shes all grown up but hasnt lost all her weight and her boobs yet. She should have stayed like that.

I like the episode but its not in my top anything.

It was fairly average. Especially as a season opener
 
Definetly agree this is an awesome episode! that whole hell scene is really cool, where the demon ask's who are you?

And she looks amazing in that shot, where she's holding the axe thing after fighting off the demons!!

I disagree with all of you, yeah. SMG is pretty and hot, that's true. But I really didn't like her look in this episode, and most of the season. I think it's because of her hair. I realize that she (Buffy) did her hair that way because she wanted to change her look so she could "disappear". But I think her haircut is terrible. and maybe it has something to do with the make up as well. And I also didn't like the clothes she wore in this season. But her body looks great!
 
Sorry to bring up a long-dead thread but after watching this episode for the fourth time I think it might be VERY close to being my top favorite season premiere. It's so awesome. I love Lilly. I love the Hell Buffy goes to, I like those cool-looking demons, I like the plot, I like the humor, I like the fight scenes, and yes, Buffy's ass looks quite nice.

I think "Anne" sets up season three far better than the mediocre "When She Was Bad" set up season two.

For anyone interested, that weapon is called a "hunga-munga" (really!), and if you're into that kinda stuff, you can get one from Atlanta Cutlery. If you don't live close enough to them to visit directly, they have a web site and offer free catalogs just for the asking.

As for Sara's looks, primarily her figure, yeah, she looked much better back then. When someone's as small as she s, losing even a few pounds can really show up. I always figured it was the sixteen to twenty hour day, six to seven day week shooting schedule of the show that was responsible, but you could sorta look at it as the terrible strain of guarding the hellmouth taking its toll on an overworked Slayer.

By the same token, Buffy's wardrobe seemed to "cheapen" after Joyce died and money became an issue. The leather pants and coats were replaced by regular jeans and cloth coats. It all just seemed to me to add to the realism of the show.

I LOVE this episode! I have to agree with you! Sarah looks her best in this episode... I can't point out what makes her look her best... but there is something there!
 
The first scene shows a vampire crawling out of a grave slowly, Willow waits for him to look at her before saying something. Come on. She is smarter than that. There are several seconds before he even looks up to notice her, any one of them could have staked him before he knew they were there.

As they were walking away from the graveyard, Willow says wouldn't it be nice if Buffy just showed up tomorrow, Xander says Buffy can't because she got kicked out. I thought getting kicked out of school was just til the school year was over and next year the person got to start over.

Giles hurriedly leaves the library to check on a rumor of a girl fighting vampires in... I think it was Oakland. In a later episode, doesn't Faith mention having been in Oakland earlier?

Xander says something about getting your hopes up but then "it's a big fat raspberry". I've never heard that phrase before, have you? I can grasp what it means by the way he used it in the sentence, but I wonder how that phrase came about. I've never heard it since. I remember on a list once discussing what BTVS phrase we used in real life. I think we should start a list of phrase we don't use, but should. I think this would be a good candidate, don't you?

Buffy bumps into "Ken" (the guy who runs the fake homeless shelter), did anyone remember that actor has the guy who was on ANGEL as the fiance to Doyle's ex-wife?

Then they show a montage of homeless kids, being sad, asking for money, etc and one of the first scenes shows a girl standing with her back to us, she is facing the street, at night, arms wrapped around herself, looks just like one of the scenes in ANGEL's opening credits. Anyone know if I'm correct or hallucinating?

Joyce was feeling sorry for herself because the last time she saw Buffy they had a fight. Giles says something like "don't blame yourself" and she replies with "I blame you" and I just wanted to smack her. I understand how she would feel jealous of the secrets Giles shared with Buffy but has she forgotten telling Buffy "if you go out the door don't come back" I think it's more her fault than his.

In Ken's world, everyone is working for hundreds of years... why?
