Annja Creed - Rogue Angel

Not sure if anyone has read any of the Rogue Angel books, but if you have, did you ever think that Annja Creed is a semi-slayer?

Follow me on this folks: The first book of the series is called Destiny. It involves a mystical sword that Annja puts together (i dont want to give too much away if you havent read it). This sword once belonged to the most famous slayer, Joan of Arc. Further, Joan of Arc had a mentor and his name is Roux (the book calls him a mentor, but us buffy fans call him a Watcher).

So now Annja has the sword and (again, not to give too much away) somehow Roux has managed to survive through the ages of time to be her mentor/watcher.

Now, in the first paragraph i called Annja a 'semi-slayer.' this is because she has no great strength, no dreams of slayers of the past and she doesnt fight demons. however, she has a watcher, she is very intelligent (and sexy), and she is in possession of the joan of arcs sword.

I doubt the author knew how close he was to creating a new slayer :buble_eye!

No strength, no Slayer dreams, and doesn't fight demons. Where does the "semi" come in? Okay, she has a watcher, so I might accept that she could be a passed over Potential, but that's about as far as I could go.
 
I think this is in the wrong section. This section is reserved for a fanfiction project.
 
i guess it would be hard to understand what i meant by 'semi' slayer if you havent read the book. you see, the sword i mentioned chose Annja, just as it chose joan of arc. i believe a small connection to the slayer line could be made here.
 
ok, i have some further analysis of this post. i am currently on the second book for Rogue Angel and it is called Solomon's Jar. I got to page 221 and what should I see?.....a reference to buffy. It reads as this: "Good lord" Pascoe exclaimed when she'd finished. "You make it sound as if I've been serially rescued by Buffy the Vampire Slayer!"

Now, I want to edit my previous remark about Annja Creed being a possible slayer. My new theory is that the author of Rogue Angel, Alex Archer, is a fan of Buffy. I dont believe that he was trying to make her out to be a new slayer.

I believe that the Rogue Angel world has its roots in the buffy world. I mean, come on, the evidence it there (i.e. the quote above, the references to joan of arc having supernatural powers that are linked to a sword, etc.).

If this is true, then that makes me happy to know that an author out there is giving props to joss whedon in his own way.
