Annoyed by Andrew

How was Andrew to blame for Anyas death?

I would think who ever devised the plan of having Anya and Andrew fight side by side, two characters not really known for their fighting prowess, while the better fighters were grouped together should take some, if not most of the blame - the rest laying with the Bringer that sliced her.

I mean come on, the plan was to have Anya and Andrew stop a horde of Bringers from passing them?

Least mix it up, have Wood and Anya, Giles and Andrew, Xander and Dawn fighting as teams as that evens it out a little bit.

I've not read the comics, from what I have heard I would find them frustratingly annoying, so I can only go on the show(s).

I liked Andrew.

IN season 6, I thought the trio were supposed to be the comic relief when you see how desperately dark the season was. In the final few episodes they lose most of that but then it is building to the finale so its acceptible.

Andrew was my favourite of the three as we've seen Jonathan from season 1, Warren just bugged me and Andrew's link was tenuous so made him fun.

In season 7 I thought his character was handled perfectly well.

Yes he killed Jonathan but to be more than honest, Buffy had other things to worry about.
No one is beyond redemption, thats something we're told often in this show and the fact that he was willing to lay down his life for what was right gives him credit.

He was misguided and lacked focus and I believe that Giles et al gave him something to do and to believe in, something that allowed him to have purpose and thats what he wanted.

What I saw in Angel was a growing up Andrew, someone who probably won't forget his sins but is doing the right thing to atone for them.

excellent post :)
Andrew was THE most annoying character in the Buffyverse right after Connor. He wasn't funny and he was lame. The fact that he killed someone and nobody really TRULY cared was ridiculous. Season seven was awesome but without him it would have been better. I can't STAND him. Oh and in season six when Dark Willow was trying to kill him and he kept saying "But we didn't DO anything!" I wanted to punch him in the face. Jonathan was right.

Poor Jonathan.
Stupid Andrew.

LOVE your banner... Too cute! :D I loved Jonathan but I didn't hate Andrew... But he was annoying to me sometimes.
5x5, I do get where your comming from, it is just the so called brazen "Oh I joined a horirble bunch of nerds who where phycologically challenged, and I have killed my best mate! BUT I repent of my evil deeds and Join forces with Buffy, only out of respect" and not because he felt any kind of remorse or saw himself as he was, a killer and an irresponcible boy man? I know the wheddon verse says that redemption is for everyone, I'm all for that, I just don't buy the al of a sudden Andrew is a scooby member. Even after the fight had ended he still included the forces of evil in his little thanks speach! I saw NO change in him in Angel at all. He was trying to dress himself up as someone he was not, played "Lets pretend" during a serious situation involving a phyco slayer.

I want to see him grow up. That's all.

I adored Andrew. He is one of the only characters to consistently make me laugh out loud. He was infantile, sure, but thats what made him FUNNY. Everything going on is so serious, everyone is being all mighty mature, and here is Andrew bringing everything to a more light-hearted perspective. I jumped for joy when he did that episode of Angel. I think he is comedy at it's best in the show, and i dont see how anyone can compare him to Connor in annoyingness. not even remotely close.

Banner karma!
Very remotely close. He comedy was lame like comic book lame kids with no lives.

andrew was awesomes as too was jonathan. but i loved how everything went with andrew and how he went form been kept under watch to been involved and actually helping the scoobies

i think the reason for buffy riding faith so much more over killing someone than they did with andrew was that fiath after a while didn't really show much if any guilt or resent, killing became her, where as andrew felt the guilt and the resent for allowing himself to listen to the first as warren and this leading him to kill his best friend

i dont no if that makes any sence just part of my opinion on the matter

Angel's vision
If you watched Angel season one faith did in fact cry and tried to say sorry whereas Andrew DID not.
I think Andrew was a bit over-used and got more screentime than he needed and/or deserved...but I can't deny that I found him consistently funny and entertaining. Storyteller was pure comedic genius.

Andrew was one of the best(although there wasnt much competition) things about s7 imo, i just couldnt help laughing at almost every scene he was in. Storyteller, yes, also when he had that board he had drawn a map of sunnydale on it, haahahaha, and the bit in mexico. yeah, i loved Andrew.

I'm glad they killed Jonathan and kept Andrew. Jonathan's character came to full circle and there was nothing more to add to the character (except maybe having at least one character appreciating him 🙁 ) but Andrew's character is still fresh and in need of lots of development, plus a much funnier character than Jonathan and seeing as Xander and Spike had became far more mature in S7 to crack jokes. Andrew was paired with Anya to be the season's comedian couple.

K, so I read Wolves at the Gate and focused on Andrew this time. Okay, I'll admit he was funny and whatnot, but it still doesn't change my mind about his role on the show.

I think that Andrew being in Season 7 was unnecessary and a waste of time. I understand that many people appreciated his character though so I guess it was a good move. I found it frustrating that the moment that Dawn stopped annoying me, Andrew came into the picture and started annoying me.

I wish they could have skipped the entire thing and spent more time on the scoobies or getting to know some of the potentials (Vi or Amanda maybe).

I guess that as someone earlier said he is similar to Xander in many ways, and I'm not a big fan of that style of character.

Just like so many things in Season 7, disappointing and a little false.

A couple of things I DO like - The storyteller episode had some really funny parts, and it gave Anya someone to play with I suppose.

Think you need to read the thread a little better hun. You´re not alone in your love for Andrew. That two or three people hate him isn´t something to be bothered about.
I never noticed Andrew so much in season 6 (same as the characters, I guess😉) but I thought he was great addition to season 7. With all the speechifying and killing of Potentials going on, we needed some humour. It seemed like everyone else had lost their sense of humour (except Anya of course) and Xander was more mature by this point so we didn't have as much of goofy Xander to lighten things up. Andrew was perfect for lightening the mood of the season and he and Anya make a great double act.

in my plan we are beltless
I love him , hes great. Hes like the much geeker version of xander with a dash of camp. Hes just so up lifting in that season, and you feel sorry for him rather than hating him, hes also atoning for killing Jonathan. He is also finding out who he is and what he wants from life evil or good hes better off without Warren. I just wanna give him some Jaffa cakes and play some monopoly with him .

Did I sound bothered? I' not bothered at all, I was just making a comment, I mean, I just noticed that I like the characters that are in the minority

E.g Andrew, Connor.

Tha's all I meant.:coolman:
