Annoying!!!

The Ferg, I'm really sorry to say this, but you are acting REALLY stubborn. You're making it sound like YOUR opinion is the LAW. That's not the case. Just because YOU find it annoying that people EXPRESS THEIR OPINIONS does NOT mean you have the right to jump down their throats. You have your opinion, great! That's wonderful. If you're allowed to have an opinion and express it, so does everyone else. Kapiche? (Spelling, Blondie? Did I spell it right?)

*clears throat*

Yes, Dawn was whiny. But I love her anyway. 😀

WOH! how was I being stubborn? If anything, you're being stubborn for going crazy on me for expressing MY opinion. I was EXPRESSING MY OPINIONS (like you said) on how I think that people saying that Dawn is annoying doesn't make sense. (that was a bad choice of words) That's all. They said why they didn't like Dawn, and I said why it's dumb to think Dawn's annoying. Now, explain to me how I'm "Jumping down their throats"?

Joyce hit the nail right on the head, btw.

Aww thanks. I love you too. Haha
I'm calling a time out before this gets out of hand. Remember, guys, that this is a text-only medium in which tone and body language don't come across. Just because you think someone's being rude doesn't mean they are. (Sometimes they really, really are, though.) If you're not sure, ask for clarification.

I agree with what your saying about its part of the character but it is annoying, but Buffy is a whiny character at times too, Dawns yelling gets to me!! When i first watched The Gift, I wanted Buffy to push Dawn of the tower!!! (only kidding)

i like dawn.... wow weird to write that out loud.... but i do... not at first, but i didnt have a problem with her not a major one anyone

*random side note... on the olympics they just played the ghostbusters song... wtf?*

Dawn annoyed the living hell out of me. But that's part of the CHARACTER. I thought MT did a wonderful job portraying her. There were plenty of *characters* I didn't necessarily like, but that's just the way it is. Some characters you love, some you hate, some you love to hate (am I the only one who loved to hate J.R. Ewing in Dallas? Surely not! 🙄 ) ....

...in fact, I hated Xander a LOT... but I loved Xander too. Xander got on my nerves with his constant bashing of Angel (& later Spike) but I loved Xander because he was *Xander* - ya know?

There were times when BUFFY got on my last nerve. But I could never NOT LOVE the Buffster!

I also didn't like Tara, but I thought AB did a super job portraying her. And I think all the characters were needed, else they wouldn't have been characters to begin with.

But YEAH, oh yeah! Dawn was a whiny little brat thru most of her 3 years on the show. It grated me severely. And yet I'm glad Dawn was there.

Dawn could be very annoying, I dont have much love for her.....But the show would not have been the same without her!. Characters like her, Riley and Connor that piss me off regularly, Im still glad are part of the buffyverse, especially when you look at things from their perspectives. If I were a 14yr old girl who found out I was a mystical key that could destroy the world id do my fair share of bitching too!. And they do all have their moments that make me wanna hug em!.

I think for me it's the same, I didn't like her at first but after a while I managed to look through the whining and everything. I haven't seen much of season 5, I started to watch with season 6 (then 7, and then back. Now I'm halfway s4) and in the first couple of episodes she really annoyed me. But I think I got used to her, and maybe Michelle Trachtenburg had to get used to her character, I don't know, but her acting has also improved. Now I respect her character (and that's not ironic. Well, maybe a little ^^)

Dawn is soo anoying!!!!!! to be honest i wouldnt cool it a lose if they killed her off....also i dont tihnk many would cry either lol.
the actress is great but dawn is not

Ok, so when i first watched season 5 onwards i couldn't stand dawn...it was mostly for her annoying whining yes,,,,BUT...when i rewatched it i seemed to connect more with the character. In season five she pretty much finds out that everything she thought was real wasn't. Basically she was told her whole life was a lie. Then to add insult to injury her mum dies. Then her sister sacrificed herself to save her. I mean dawn never has it easy! So forgived her annoying ways and actually did begin to sympathise with the character...maybe it's just me but oh well.

Season 5 Dawn

I think Dawn was a really believable character and I liked her from the start but I think that might be because its easier to relate to her when shes your age.

I liked how they introduced Dawn as a key that Buffy need to protect in season 5. However at first, after that season ended, I had a hard to time seeing the point of Dawn. Other then being one Buffy's many ties to the world, she really didn't seem to do anything. By the end of season 6 that all that changed for me.

The last episode of season 6 she proved she could fight and win aganist the dark forces, which being on a hell mouth and all is very useful. She also started to be a kinda of mini Willow when she start to research stuff for Buffy and the gang, again a useful talent to have on a hell mouth. These two things where enough for me to grow to like Dawn, despite her how annoying she could be.

I think the main problem with Dawn in S5 is that she was written way younger than the character actually was. Before they casted Michelle, Dawn was originally supposed to be about twelve years old, and I don't think they ever completely broke away from that, even though Dawn became fifteen.

What we're left with is someone totally immature and annoying, even if (on several re-watches) it's more understandable.

I can more relate to Dawn in Season Six (even though she's still annoying there) and by Season Seven, I really like her. Dawn definitely had some growing up to do, and with a protective sister guarding your every move, along with a whole lot of heartbreak, that's difficult to do.

But even if she was 12, she didn't have to act so annoying :)
ha she did annoy me, but still it wouldn't have been the same without her, why did she steal things from the magic box
:S

She was a kleptomaniac. She just felt sad and lonely. Poor dawn.
In saeson 5 and 6, I hated Dawn because she was so whiny, and I also didn't like the fact that she appeared out of nowhere and they all thought she was there the whole time. Although I do like saeson 7 Dawn, because she is more mature, and she knows how to defend herself. Also she is acting like a women, instead of a whiny child.

The only thing I didn't like about her was when she squealed, which was almost every episode she was in.
