Summer Glau is joining Chuck, and all is right with the world. The ex-Terminatrix has signed on to play a secret agent who sets up shop with Zachary Levi in the Buy More"”but, alas, it's for one night only.

One of our favorite Whedonverse veterans is enlisting for a short stint at the Buy More. EW's Michael Ausiello reports that for Chuck's eighth episode, Glau will step into the role of Greta"”the same role that Olivia Munn played last week"”a rotating superspy who'll be played by a different actor each episode. (So far, Chuck's producers have already lined up ex-wrestler Stacy Keibler and Old Spice pitchman Isaiah Mustafa.)

To help explain, here's Levi:

"The Buy More has now been taken over by the CIA and it's a fully functioning operation by the government, so there are these constant agents that are in the store. First it was Olivia Munn, who looked hot in her little Nerd Herder outfit, and [next was] Isaiah, who was a hoot to work with."

And for those of you"”okay, those of us"”wishing Glau's stay on Chuck could be longer, she's still committed to NBC's midseason superhero drama The Cape. But still, we're glad to see that Glau is steadily adding to her already impressive sci-fi resume.

Ooh, I've only watched this too and fro (for Adam Baldwin-y goodness) but this definitely makes me want to give it another go. Everyone keeps recommending it to me anyway 🙂
 
Chuck is definitely worth a few viewings, I absolutely love it!

I'm looking forward to seeing Summer on the show, but I should make a point of saying that I'm a little disappointed... If they were going to have a whedon girl on the show there are plenty more that I would have preferred to see.

Although I think Summer does fit the vibe of the show well, so I'm not complaining. She better not get in the way of Chuck and Sarah either!

Oh, goodie. Will definitely be looking forward to this. Hope her part gets more screentime than Olivia got. And more people definitely need to watch Chuck.

😛 Since it's a one episode thing it shouldn't cause too much trouble. But I'm ok with a little flirting. Preferably with Sarah. 😉

Y'all know the show's gonna get canned for sure now, right?

Summer's awesome, but she definitely has the death touch.
 
Well she was in The big bang theory and it's not even close to getting cancelled. 😉 But other than that you're spot on. Since Chuck is close to getting cancelled anyway it looks like she'll get another one to put on record.
 
It took a while before it got renewed for a 4th season and it's the reason they only got 13 episodes this season. If they ratings get good I think they'll get a full season though.
 
Im such a tool, thought it was cool she'd be on Chuck, but hadn't connected that she'd be working with Adam again!
 
I totally forgot about Chuck even being back now. I better catch up with season 4! And Summer joining is just a bonus to an already awesome show.
 
It was fun seeing her and Adam together again. Too bad they didn't have more screen time together. The positive thing was that Summer got more screen time than I feared since the different Greta's has kept mostly to the background.

I like Chuck and Sarah but a fling with Summer would work just fine. 😉
Not that you have anything to worry about.
