Another Bomb Attempt in NY

New York City almost had another terrorist attack on July 4th. It was thwarted because a car thief stole the van the explosives were in and, upon seeing them, drove the van out of the residential area and called the police.

And good for the car thief, though I never thought I'd utter those words.

That part might not have been in the article. My hubby hangs out on Military/Law Enforcement forums and one of the NY police who dealt with it said it was rigged to go off then because a) the response would be slower; and b) the people he was trying to kill would absolutely be in the building.

The friggin' psychos we get in this world. What the hells a chinese guy doing planning a terrorist attack?
I just hope the car theif didnt get any punishment.
 
wow i must live in a bubble. I live in NY and i haven't heard a word of this. not at work, not at home, not anywhere.
 
^ Probably because, as I reread the article, it wasn't actually a terrorist attack so much as some idiot trying to kill some people with a buttload of explosives. Even though there was probably enough there to take out the entire freaking block while he was at it.
 
This actually sounds more serious than that alleged plot to take out JFK International Airport last year,breathlessly touted as another victory in the "war on terror",despite the story having more holes than Swiss cheese.
