Okay, long ago Angel was cursed by the Gypsies with a soul--blah, blah, if he experiences true happiness, he loses it.

Well, he lost it, it happened and then Willow re-insouled him--twice--does that change anything?

I'm just trying to figure this out--because honestly I don't think there is a 'loophole' anymore--now that Willow returned his soul. I mean, I highly doubt Willow would put that sort of a hex on Angel, but I don't think they ever mentioned if the happiness curse comes standard with getting a soul--it doesn't seem that way, I mean you'd think that was just the Gypsies way of making sure he stays miserable-but the gypsy curse his basically history so aren't Angel and Buffy perfectly fine together?
 
Hmm interesting idea 🙂 I guess it depends on whether Willow gave him his soul, or if she just reversed what happened to him (the perfect happiness yadda yadda losing soul thing).
 
Well, in Angel--his soul was in a jar and she broke the jar and sent it back into him--as for the Buffy ep I'm really not sure. I remember they needed a stone, which I thought broke--and there was a floppy disk. They used the gypsy secrerts to do it, jenny was a Gypsy, I think--but I don't know if that matters..
 
I dont think the Angels curse is still the same. We know Willow is powerful, but it would probably take a lot of power from her to reinsoul Angel without a loop hole. In Orpheus in Angels mind we saw Angel and Angelus go at it for one of them to take over the body basically, and neither won, both were put back together and then Angel wakes up, so its probably the same.

Willow had the same ingrediants for her spell in Orpheus as she did in Becoming.

And as we saw in Season5, Angel can have sex freely as we saw with Nina the werewolf, but we never got a real look into thier relation ship and how much Angel cared for her, but he probably wasnt IN love with her like he was with Buffy.

Its just another little mystery in the buffyverse.
 
Didn't Willow perform the exact spell that Jenny's ancestors used to curse Angel? That's why he lost his soul again when he got all happy.

Yeah, Angel cared for Nina but he was still in loved Buffy and/or Cordy.
 
I duno, I thought they gave him his soul. Then cursed him with the happiness thing, I don't know if the two go hand in hand

It was all one spell, they cursed him with a soul but since everything has a loop hole, his was experiance one moment of true happiness and you lose your soul.
 
The spell that Willow does to restore Angel's soul is the exact gypsy curse that restored it in the first place, complete with the 'no happiness' clause.

'A moment of prefect happiness' does not mean an orgasm (though for a long while many thought it did). Angel can have sex, as he did with Darla. It means having sex with someone he truly loves, such as Buffy or Cordy (not sure about the latter since I never saw the later seasons of Angel).
 
Not to beat a dead horse, but I don't think it even necessarily means sex at all - that just happened to be what triggered it with Buffy... 🙂
 
sex with buffy didn't trigger the happiness clause. perfect happiness did, that one moment he was in the arms on the woman he loved, one moment his soul was at peace at last - that did it. sex doesn't make him lose his soul, not with buffy, not with anyone. he thought so once, too, that it was the sex, but he understood it wasn't.
