Another reason to love Buffy--- They cry real tears

One of my very serious pet peeves is watching TV or a movie and seeing actors cry..... WITHOUT TEARS!!!

I hate it!!! What are the directors thinking?? I'm a parent and a divorce lawyer... I see people cry in my office, and my son has cried a few times during the past 9 years (like every kid does) and it's always with tears. When did directors think that it was ok for an actor to do a crying scene without tears??

Luckily, it must be a pet peeve for Joss too.

Yet another reason why BtVS was one of the greatest shows EVER!

Lol I freaking love your post! It's so true! I think seeing Angel with real tears moves me the most since men crying is so taboo.

They mentioned crying in the paleyfest video, i think. About how Joss was never satisfied with the amount of crying. Either there was too much crying, not enough sobbing, no tears falling from the left eye, etc. I find it funny lol 😛

It's the same thing with the kissing scenes. I remember in an interview, Amber Benson said something like when she and Aly had to shoot their first kissing scene, everyone was around there watching, which made them nervous. They shot the kissing scenes a million times (especially the Entropy kiss) because Joss wasn't satisfied with the previous ones saying there wasn't enough passion, or it was too lusty, blah blah blah

LOL I'm always impressed with most of the actors' emotional acting. Real tears FTW! 😀

About the Aly/Amber kissing scenes...looked good enough to me. 😉

YES!!!! i totally loved her so much for saying that lol. Also another reason why I always wanted Amber to be gay *sigh* How about when Eliza shoved her tongue down David's throat? And everyone was looking at her like "wtf are you doing?" and David was like "shhhh!" LOL

I agree 100%!
When I watch my shows and I don't see real tears I tend to not connect with the characters I can't believe it then they become my least favorite lol. Some shows have a lot of that if the show is good I can try to look past it but most of my shows I love the actors are good and have real tears.

That maybe is why Sarah was always one of my favorite actresses she is always crying so good LOL.

I agree 100%!
When I watch my shows and I don't see real tears I tend to not connect with the characters I can't believe it then they become my least favorite lol. Some shows have a lot of that if the show is good I can try to look past it but most of my shows I love the actors are good and have real tears.

SMG was pretty good, but I thought Alyson was more convincing. Always. Remember the end of Season 6?
