I don't know why I even ask. I know which one will win the poll, but if you could have another season of any cancelled show with a Whedon connection, which would it be?

None....Personally, i feel its time that all the fanboys and girls move on. These shows are done. We should all look forward to new and exciting projects to come, not dwell on what could have been.
We still have Whedon doing Canon Comics for our fave shows. He might do more, but these shows have all been dead for a year or more, so i say let them rest. Lets just be happy we got what we did and move on.

There wasnt a poll a minute ago. Id like to see more Tru Calling too. It was just getting really good. Then stopped 🙁

Buffy wasnt cancelled was it. Joss got a chance to finish it.

Buffy wasn't cancelled, Joss and Sarah were both quitting. But, this would the show that I would've like to see go on. I sometimes think that it's so sad that it only got seven seasons.

Angel would've been a close second.

I'm nto sure about the others. I never watched Firefly, and I'm sure that was just as interesting. And it didn't really have a lot, so I'm assuming that viewers would be very interested to find out more.

Oh that's a tough question! Ok I went with Firefly, just cuz there was so much unanswered, but I would love to see more Buffy followed by Angel.

And I don't think we should move on, I mean the quality of program that came after Buffy I have not been impressed with. Lost is the only sci-fi/fantasy show I have continued to watch, Supernatural is good, but it's not great, and I'm expecting good things from Heroes.

Lost, 24, Desperate Housewives, New Doctor Who, Supernatural, Smallville, Prison Break, 4400 to name but a few were all in their early seasons, or not even aired, when Buffy and/or Angel was cancelled.

These shows have been consistently entertaining and done to the smae calibre, in my opinion, as Buffy and Angel. There is no reason to live in the past when there are still great TV shows being made.

Yes Buffy and subsequient shows have their place in TV history, but we should be looking forward to new innovative TV shows, not dwelling on whats been and gone.

If Whedon(or any other of the Writers) came forward with another outsanding show I would watch that, but the ones already done, i'm actually bored of the empty promises of 'Ripper', 'SpikeMovie', 'FaithMovie' or 'WillowMovie'.
Firefly got Serenity, Buffy got its end, Angel ended precisely how it should have and the other shows, weren't strong enough I suppose otherwise they'd still be here.

Yeah. When you post with a poll, the thread appears as you're working on the poll segment, so if someone's quick they slip in before they can see the poll.

And yes, I blew it with the cancelled word for Buffy, but you get the idea of what I was trying to say, right? I don't mean Lost, 24, or Smallville. Shows that are still going.

Oh and Dia. I'm curious. What's your opinion on shows like Star Trek and Family Guy which came back due to proven fan interest? Come to think of it, what's your opinion on the return of Doctor Who?

Yeah Actually I love the 4400, but 24, Desperate Housewives and Prison Break arn't Sci-fi / Fantasy, and while they are good, I have never found one (With the exception of Lost) that has grabbed my attention as Buffy had.

I voted Buffy. Firefly close behind, and Angel behind that.

I think Tru calling was getting repetitive. I havent seen the season 2 episodes. I mean the twist at the end of season 1 was interesting and everything but I don't really think it would've ben that exciting. The episodes were a bit samey, I think another season would've probably made me bored and I wouldn't have enjoyed it. I still would've watched it though, I mean its Eliza dushku!

I never saw wonderfalls. Or the inside.

Firefly as people have said left alot of things unexplored, plus i think it could've gone for 10 seasons and I would've never gotten bored. Theres so much more left to tell.

Angel I'd watch but I liked the ending as it was.

And Buffy. They could go so many places with how they left it.

I kinda agree with DDLM, but I hate myself for doing so. The longer time passes the more I seem to 'get over' the fact that there probably won't be anymore of the whedonverse shows...

*Slaps* Dont say things you'll regret later!! :)
Again I'm curious. 🙂 Will you two be browsing, at least, the upcoming Buffy comics Joss Whedon is writing where he'll be updating the story, and possibly telling us stuff like how the multiple slayer line of Chosen connects to the seemingly one (and maybe 1/2) slayer line of Fray?

What happened to good TV?
Well I havent read many of the comics as I'm not sure where to find them but if i see it I will buy it definately! I'm not I'm over Buffy, I just mean the longer time passes the less I think anythings going to happen.
i voted for Angel...this is the show that i'd want to see more of. i wanna know what happened after the alley, where Connor and Harmony went, who survived, who else died, what happened to Eve. there are so many unanswered questions.
Firefly was a very close second, 'cause, it was prematurely cancelled, and even though we had the movie, which rounded off River's story to a certain degree, we still never found out who Book really was, or why Zoe was so private about her marriage.
After that comes Tru Calling, 'cause i really liked the S2 eps, we were really getting somewhere with the Jack/Tru opposites storyline.

i don't think i'd want Buffy back. the show was brought to a close, most, if not all, questions were answered and everybody was happy. it rounded off the show very nicely.

Firefly without a doubt. Buffy was right to end when it did (even though I love it above everything else in this world 😀 ).. Angel shouldn't have ended but.. I don't really care, I think it was ok to end when it did but Firefly?? Firefly shouldn't have ended, definitely not.

True that!
Angel, definitely. Buffy wasn't cancelled. It ended very nicely and didn't feel rushed. Angel, on the other hand, felt like it wasn't the end. I want more!

Firefly was my choice. Buffy got to run its course, Joss had time to finish Angel and Tru was only ever average IMO. I would've liked to have seen more Wonderfalls but I preferred Firefly. I've never seen The Inside, so I don't miss it.

Oh and Dia. I'm curious. What's your opinion on shows like Star Trek and Family Guy which came back due to proven fan interest? Come to think of it, what's your opinion on the return of Doctor Who?

OK, Star Trek First.
This Franchise has gone on way too long. It needs time to settle. Its Three Movies(Inssurection, Generations and Nemesis as First Contact was Good) too much and one Series too many..infact there could be an argument for two series too many.
For the past 3/4 Years this Franchise hasn't anywhere near had the numbers it should have had, yet it continued. This has nothing to do with quality, this is just purely about saturating the market.

Family Guy.
This last season, if anything, proves that the show should have remained 'cancelled' because it has been no where near as funny as previous seasons. See this is what happens when fans get what they want, rushed out, exec fuelled crap.

Dr Who is again, completely different.
For a start, this show has not been on TV for 13 Years, if you don't count that cruddy movie, and even if you do thats 10 years ago.
This new series had a totally new influx of writers, directors and actors giving it a new lease of life. There is not one person who could argue that the quality of those last few years was lacking, but this new lot, these have the quality of the earlier, bigger seasons.

Again I'm curious. Will you two be browsing, at least, the upcoming Buffy comics Joss Whedon is writing where he'll be updating the story, and possibly telling us stuff like how the multiple slayer line of Chosen connects to the seemingly one (and maybe 1/2) slayer line of Fray?[/QUOTE
I've never liked Comics, i've read a few, for instance the Angel 'Old Friends', and found them to be terrible. I personally don't care for them.
Even the books of recent have been been poor, even if they are not canon, Queen of the Slayers I STILL can't read all the way through, even though i have tried 4 times.

The Buffy/Angel series needs time to rest. If Jossd or someone wanted to rervisit the show in 10 years time that would be awesome, but am I gonna sit here and pine away for it....no.
Joss will have known for ages that the chances of more are close to zero, yet he has still kept on with the 'possibility'.

Its strange how the Networks seemed really interested in doing it, the Actors seemed really interested, Greenwalt seemed really interested but nothing happened.

The rest of the shows in that list, including Firefly, are not comparable to Buffy/Angel or Star Trek and Dr Who.

Myself, I more or less feel similar to the way you do about BTVS. I don't care if I ever see Sarah as Buffy again in anything in the future. I'm satisfied with the legacy. If they reset a Buffyverse series sometime in the future a la Doctor who though, that would please me. I'd like to see the larger Buffyverse live on.

Angel's not coming back. I know this, but I wouldn't mind seeing the Star Trek thing happen with spinoffs from it's verse. I think those would be better than the Star Trek ones.

Tru Calling doesn't bother me one way or the other. It was OK I guess. Should I have added Point Pleasant to the poll? I don't know.

Now with the others we have something completely different. We have inspired shows that were never given a chance. Not only didn't the networks support them, they almost sabotaged them with mean spirited scheduling, lack of promotion, and re-ordering of episode order. Perhaps those shows were just too special for network TV. But, Hell yeah, I'd like to see another series of any or all three of them. I'd like to see what would have happened if they'd been given a chance. Won't happen of course, but I'd like to see it.

Ah I'd sure like to see another season of The Inside, and Point Pleasant. ;) But I'm sure you knew that.
