The genaral thought for this is that a Slayer can only trigger the next in line the first time they die. Buffy triggered Kendra when she died in season 1. The slayer line then continued through Kendra and Faith.

also why cant vampires enter your home without being invited?

That's just how it is! No science behind it, just magical forces that prevent vampires entering. If the rule didn't exist, vampires would wipe humans out very quickly.

Yeah no slayer was called in season 5 after buffy died because Faith was still alive, Faith would have to die before another slayer is called into action.

buffy already died so kendra came then she died then faith came so even tho buffy died again faith was still the slayer so unless she died there wouldn't have been another well untill the whole scythe thing at the end

I've seen this discussed over and over. I don't think the question has any definite answer. There's the Faith theory (slayer line through Faith), the Dawn theory (Buffy and Dawn have the same blood). I don't think even the creators of Buffy have offered explanations consistent with each other. If there was ever a point at which they could have settled the question once and for all, it's in the S6 episode "Grave", where Buffy and Giles are talking in the back room of the Magic Box and Buffy asks him what she's still doing "here".

Buffy: I don't understand why I'm back.

Giles: You have a calling.

Buffy: But it was my time Giles, someone would have taken my place.

Pause

Buffy: So why?

And Giles is silent.

Personally I'm fine with the question being left unanswered. Mythology-which is the way I think of Buffy-can leave such questions open.

The question certainly does have a definitive answer because Joss Whedon himself has stated, without a doubt, that Buffy had already fulfilled her place in the slayer line by activating Kendra. At the time of her death in The Gift Faith was the active slayer and so only her death was able to activate a new one.

I haven't got a link to a source handy for this but it is a fact and it's fairly common knowledge around here and if you look around in numerous other threads on this topic you will no doubt see what i'm talking about. Either that of ask nerd4hire because i'm sure he has the relevant interview or article.
