I've never seen the unaired pilot, but I've seen screencaps of it. I can't imagine seeing a brunnette Willow every week for seven seasons...

Well, thanks to a VERY special guy I HAVE seen it and I must say...you aren't missing much...she sucked BIG time! The series would have gone straight into the ground if they hadn't cast Alyson. It was actually SCARY!

Nah, that chick didn't try too hard...she was barely acting...and she looked about 30 which isn't a believeable teen really...she was bad...

I have unaired pilot...I was not good..If that girl played Willow,this would be probably the most hated character....

Most of the unaired pilot plot ended up in "Welcome to the Hellmouth" so if you haven't seen it you're not missing much.

About the only positive thing I can say about it is that I really liked the guy who played the principal (he's a character actor who's been in lots of other stuff...he was the nerdy insurance salesman in Groundhog's Day who kept saying "Watch that last step, it's a doosie!" after Bill Murray stepped off a curb and into a puddle). There are a couple of other neat treats - Jonathan Levinson has a brief exchange with Buffy outside the Bronze, and Xander and Buffy have an amusing discussion about the different cliques in high school. But mostly it's just Welcome to the Hellmouth, only with HORRIBLE production values and a really bad Willow. And for the record - she's doesn't overact, she severely underacts. To the point of being almost a non-entity.

She looks awful, if she stayed casted as Willow the show would of been awful, and everytime she would appear I would of laughed my head off, glad they got rid of her and bought in Aly.
If Willow was played by her I reckon she would of been one of my worst, but because Aly plays her I love her!!!

I've seen the unaired pilot, it was pretty neat to watch. Don't get me wrong, but from a fan's perspective it was interesting to see how it would've been IF. Also Flutie was originally played by someone else.

They didn't cast her out, she left because of personaly reasons. Just like Lori Rom (orignal Pheobe) on Charmed.

The narration was from Angel's point of view..he was like speaking to viewers..

I saw the unaired pilot.... and this girl was horrible!

Thank our lucky stars that Aly was cast instead. much better.
