Ant-Man is facing the worst second-week box-office drop in MCU history. Projections say Quantumania will drop more than 70 percent this weekend. It'll be only the second movie in history to open at 100 million one weekend, and then drop more than 70 percent the next.

Marvel needs to just give it a rest for a year. This was supposed to be the "big" "must see" film to start the next phase and bring in a villian that would be bigger than Thanos.

In terms of bringing in a new villain I think they failed...I think the villain sucks, the baby floaty thing was a better acted more convincing villain in my eyes.

Great film though, loads of fun and the character development was fun to watch, but if that's the New Bad guy or as they show at the end a literal Infinite multiverse bad guys...not going to get into it.

Edit...also doesn't that now class a success in Hollywood? I took my kid to see this in 3D which was actually cool first time I've seen a 3D film since Jaws 3. Before that we went to see Thor Love & Thunder which clearly tops Citizen Kane or Battleship Potemkin as the single greatest piece of film committed to celluloid and that was out on Disney+ in what seemed like two weeks

Honestly… I’m waiting for Disney+. I don’t want to be bothered by people when I watch this one. I still haven’t seen Thor. I am excited for Guardians vol 3. But knowing it will eventually get to Disney+… I’m just not as invested in Marvel as I am… for example, the Scream franchise. But with like 5 movies a year from Marvel, it takes the necessity to see it during the cinematic release out of it, because I know there will be other films coming out from the franchise this year too. And I can wait.

^^^ Yeah my kid is 11 and she's Marvel & BTVS obsessed, so in that capacity I think the big screen still is without doubt the best way to view and experience film as it is still a magical and 'special treat' as such, so I'm more than happy to take her to pictures to see the movies.

Honestly I'm the same I'd rather just wait for an offer and watch them on Disney+

This just follows the distinct downward trajectory of Phase 4 that is now rapidly becoming freefall as it moves into Phase 5.

Not surprised in the slightest given the quality of their last few movies and the majority of their shows.

It's another poor Ant Man film. Maybe worse than the second. Also another poor Marvel film. Way more misses than hits now. Post Endgame there's been a couple of fun outings but mostly dross, not a fan of the multiverse. That said the guy playing the big bad here does a decent job with what he's given to work with.

Marvel films have been pretty weak since Endgame. I'll forever miss Loki and the Winter Soldier.

I've never understood the appeal of Ant Man. 😐
