Just watched this trailer. It looks quite weird, in my opinion, and I don't think I'll watch it, but it's awesome to see them in the trailer.
Tony seems to be some kind of centaur and imdb.com lists Nathan as Hermes, but he looks, in fact, like Richard Castle 😀

Here's the trailer.

I didn't know whether this was going in this forum or the Cast & Character forum. Feel free to move this thread, if necessary.

I wasn't sure if i was going to bother watching it because honestly his acting in the first movie sucked but with Fillion and Head in the cast I think I will give it another shot, thanks for letting us know. 🙂

Whose acting sucked in the first one?
Anyway, as I said, I'm probably not gonna watch it. Really not my kind of movie 😛

I watched the first because I love greek mythology and the guy who played Percy, he wasn't terrible it's just that some of the scenes he did completely brought me out of the film, you could clearly see he was acting, acting is supposed to be invisible, it's not supposed to look like acting, if that makes sense.

I've always liked those kind of movies and I have the book serie at home so I'm definitely watching it. Anthony and Nathan are only a plus 😀

And I'm probably the only person in the cinema who'll go "Mal!" or "Caleb!" when Nathan comes on screen, instead of saying "Castle!" XD

That would probably be Chiron, played by Pierce Brosnan in the first movie, the centaur who was the mentor and trainer of Heracles, Theseus, and most of the other Greek heroes of legend. If Nathan Fillion has been typecast as Richard Castle, then, apparently, Mr Head has been typecast as a Watcher/mentor, first to Buffy, as Giles, then to Arthur as Merlin, and now to Percy, as Chiron.

I liked the first movie, and, hopefully, this one will be as good.

While I do enjoy Castle, he will always be Mal to me and I'm a little confused when you mentioned Anthony Head as "Then to Arthur as Merlin" I might be wrong because I honestly can't say I've seen everything hes been in, even though he is fantastic, loved him in Buffy, Repo- Genetic Opera, really great in that, infact I think I will watch that again, anyway, when you mention Anthony Head and Merlin for me it means him as Uther Pendragon, more a dictator than Mentor...

Oh yeah, he was a right barstool in Merlin.
The problem with Tony Head is that his filmography would probably fill this page, and that he has been cast in so many different roles. So to say that he has been type cast is just wrong (in my mind).
Take the few roles mentioned in this thread.
In BTVS, in Merlin, in Repo. Admittedly his skills are not challenged in Merlin like they were in BTVS, and in Repo they shined. I thought he was okay in Ghost Rider 2, and alright in Dr. Who though it was nice to hear him as the narrator in Dr. Who Confidential for a couple of seasons.
Now that James Marsters is too old to play Spike, maybe Tony would like the role as that will give him something to get his teeth into. (pun deliberately added).

Nathan Fillion is a good actor, although he appears to be the same person a lot. Take the good priest/ bad priest of Dracula 2000 and his role as Caleb, he didn't seem to change to much. In the series Castle he just seems to go with the flow, hopefully his latest roles will bring the character actor in him to the fore.

About the trailer though: I mean couldn't they come up with something better than the Golden Fleece?
And that Maelstrom (whirlpool), I was looking for the Flying Dutchman in the bottom (Pirates of the Caribbean).

I Agree with almost everything, I'm a little confused about the Spike thing...and I completely forgot that Fillion was in Dracula but other than that I totally agree.

Well, I did enjoy the whirlpool scene, I mean, predictable, yeah but I have to admit I can't imagine any moments that would be scarier that this one, there aren't many situations where you would wish that it really was a huge school of sharks, has to be terrifying..well..if you weren't Poseidon's Son in the middle of the Ocean anyway 😛
