Article Anthony Stewart Head cast as the next Doctor

Anthony Stewart Head, the 57 year old star best known as Rupert Giles from the Cult TV Show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has been named as the new Doctor Who due to take over from Matt Smith in 2012.

Head who will become the twelfth incarnation of the Time Lord was unveiled by the BBC. Steven Moffat, the producer of the forthcoming sixth series of the sci-fi hit said Head was perfect casting because he was someone who was old and young at the same time.
The announcement, which was heavily trailed by the BBC in the run up to the broadcast, ends months of speculation sparked by Smith's announcement in January that he will step down as the Doctor.
Of his casting, Head said: "I'm flabbergasted. I haven't slept really! [Doctor Who] is an iconic part of our culture, and now I'm taking that on. It's nerve wracking. Exciting. Exciting".

I stopped watching the show, but I would not have any problem start watching it again for him.

You did it pretty believable though (well, everybody fell!) , what with the quote and all. But that was mean. I was excited for him, for the reason he "said", that it's a culture show and would have made Tony more seccessful and known. Not just in the UK. But I will not be surprised if they replace Dr. Who again.

I was so excited. I watched a couple of eps of Dr Who and got bored, but was intrigued by the doctor and what I heard later about him. I figured it was a show I could love if I actually sat down and watched several eps in a row, but have put off watching for several serious reason. And lazyness. But I figured that one day, I'd buy the boxes and watch it anyway, reasons be damned.

So I got excited for this. I think he'd make a fun doctor. Now I feel like someone handed me a gift and took it away. :/
