Anti Ships

Okay, hopefully I won't regret starting this thread but I really want to know.

Most ships in the Buffyverse I either like or am neutral about (part of the beauty of Joss's writing).

For example, I like Wes/Cordelia, Wes/Virginia, Wes/Lilah and Wes/Fred. I prefer Fred with Wes but if the writers had ended him with one of the other characters I probably wouldn't have minded (much).

So my question is who are your anti-ships and why? The ships you didn't like to see on screen and made you dislike one or both the characters during the time they were together.

I know this will probably start a shipping war but I'm curious why people don't like certain ships (Fred/Wesley for example). We have lots of discussion of people explaining what they liked about a ship but not their dislike of the characters' other options (with perhaps the exception of the Spuffies and Bangels).

My anti ships are

Buffy/Riley - He is too insecure, self righteous, condescending and judgemental to be with anyone in my opinion.

Willow/Kennedy - I don't think Kennedy really respects Willow for her personality and brains. She seems to treat her like a child sometimes when she "flirts" with her.

Jasmine Cordy/Conner - It wasted a season of one of my favorite actresses being on one of my favorite shows and it's gross.

Angel/Nina - I just don't understand the "chemistry" between these two. I love Jenny Mollen but Angel needs someone more mature and his equal who can balance him.

Giles/Olivia - She was just kind of random and I didn't see the point in giving Giles a "love" interest after all the pain we'd seen him go through with Jenny if it wasn't going to be developed at all.

Angel/hair gel - This clearly is an abusive relationship and needs to stop.

My anti-ships

1.) Buffy/Angel from season 3 onward
2.) Buffy/Riley from season 5 onward
3.) Willow/Kennedy
4.) Angel/Fred - I get the brother/sister vibe from them
5.) Buffy/Giles - just...no
6.) Cordelia/Connor - I despise this pairing the most
 
About Buffy and Riley, at first I thought I hated them because I was still a Bangel back then, way before Spuffy was born. So I hated Riley for replacing Angel, I was pretty mad. But today I know... Briley are bad together. They're just not the right people for each other.

As I said, I used to be a Bangel, but today I really don't want them to be together. They do fit together better than many couples, I just don't like them together. Blame season three, and the awesomess that is Spuffy.

Willow and Kennedy is pretty obvious. And it has nothing to do with Tara, or even Oz. It has to do with Kennedy only. I don't believe she's that of a good person. And I think Willow deserves better.

Buffy and Ben. Not meant to be, and not because his other half is an evil God.

Spike and Drusilla. I like them in season 2, I do enjoy them, but being a Spuffy, I really don't want them together.

Xander and Willow. They're just not meant to be more than friends. Something more than that would ruin their friendship.
 
This is a good question. Out of all the ships I don't really see the point in:
Cordy/Connor I don't get it. I mean I get it on her part she was confused and other stuff but Connor wants Cordy? He hates his father the fact that he knew they were involved in any way and still went after her is a little off.

The other ships that I don't like I can tolerate for the most part or I just ignore them and act like they don't exist after they are over.
 
Willow/Kennedy, definitely,
Spike/Faith although it never happened, they sort of toyed with the idea and I really don't like it.
Xander/Willow
 
Conner/Cordy. just . . . WHY???!!!?!?!?

Willow/Kennedy . . .

I think that's all. Pretty much everything else I am either amused by, or cool with.
 
Well, I am against the already wildly unpopular ones like:

Connor/Cordy

Giles/Buffy

Willow/Kennedy

Other than that? I don't really like

Wesley/Lilah-- I think I could understand it more if we were able to see more of it?

Buffy/Riley in season 5, (or beyond)

Spike/Dru after season 3, (which apparently they don't either, LOL!) I love them in 2-- the "Sid and Nancy" effect that Joss was going for really worked. Though I think it's hilarious that Spike would be compared to Sid Vicious because...total personality differences, hello...

I used to hate the idea of Dander. But I'm starting to get used to it...starting to...

Connor/Cordy- This is just disgusting. Sick.

Willow/Kennedy- Kennedy was disrespectful. She seems much too childish to be with Willow. She is really annoying too. And Tillow!!

Wesley/Lilah- I didn't like Lilah. She was so cold. Honestly, do lawyers have souls?!

Fred/Gunn- I wanted Wesley to be with Fred...

Oz was awesome. Tara was great. Why did the writers force her into this awkward relationship with such an annoying character?
 
my anti-ship would be Connor and Cordy. I always just despised Connor anyway and I feel that that pairing ruined Cordelia's character and then after that we didn't see much of her again.
 
Willow/Kennedy - THE worst couple.

Buffy/Spike - Ok, so I haven't always hated Spuffy, that is something that has come over me very recently, but holy shit that pairing bothers me so much. Me eyes open now and I see how idiotic and disgusting Spuffy is. Mainly because Spike shouldn't even of been brought back in season 4.

Angel/Cordelia - They had a wonderful friendship, it should've stayed that way.

Fred/Gunn - Gunn annoys me and I'm a hardcore Fresley shipper.

I didn't like Willow/Kennedy because Kennedy annoyed me. She was too bratty and pushy when it came to Willow.
I also didn't like Giles/Olivia because I loved Giles/Jenny so much that it felt weird to see him with someone else.
 
Another one for Willow/Kennedy here. They were just too different and I felt that Kennedy forced things too much for it to work.

I also don't like Xander/Willow, something about that seemed a bit contrived and icky.
 
Ships I hate? Not many, really...

Angel/Nina... Yuck.
Jasmine/Connor... People do realize it wasn't Cordy, right? I get it when people say the events screwed over Cordelia's character, but she had nothing to do with it.
Wesley/Virginia... Lame. I didn't even get what was the point of bringing her character back... That scene when she break up was cheesy.
Knox/Fred... Was short I know, but still didn't like them together.
Lindsey/Eve... Ughhhh, wtf Lindsey??
Holtz/Justine... If that was even a *relationship*. Creepy.

I just noticed these are all AtS ships, lmao!

(Dis)Honorable mentions: Willow/Kennedy and Fred/Gunn.
 
Jasmine/Cordelia & Connor - I've never seen a pairing that was more disgusting than them on television EVER!

Cordelia & Wesley - I didn't really understand why they got together lol.


Buffy & Riley - They're relationship just didn't have love or trust, and Buffy could do better than Riley.


Cordelia & Doyle - Although they weren't really a couple, I don't want to see them get together and I don't think it was anymore than Doyle just having a little crush on her.
 
My anti-ships would probably be-

Jasmine Cordy/Connor- Do I really even have to explain, EW!
Angel/Cordelia-- I just cain't get into it. I love their friendship but when I think of romance, ew no!
Willow/Kennedy- I don't see the fit and Kennedy was always a bitca and stuck up. i didn't feel she deserved Willow.
Buffy/Spike(Seasoon 6)- At first i kinda saw and liked the idea of Spuffy then season 6 came and i really disliked it. It wasn't until season 7 I became a Spuffy fan. Now I will always be more a Bangel fan >333 But Spuffy season 5 and 7 grow on me 🙂

My anti-ships:

Buffy/angel - I hate them post season 3 and even in the first three I dont like them.
Wesley/Fred - I hate wesley with anyone but Lilah. Plus fred -_-
Cordy/Connor - No explanation necessary
Nina/angel - stupid wolf girl -_-
 
Usually, I'm not really an anti-ship personn, but there's two couples that I didn't like :


-Evil!Cordy/Connor : Ewww.

-Buffy/Angel (mostly for season 3 and after) : When I began to watch the show, I was mainly indifferent to their story (though I found it too much melodramatic), but medias and the way some fans depicted them made me dislike their relationship, because it wasn't my way of seeing it, and I found the overstatement really exasperating. It really didn't serve them. And for their relationship post-season 3, too much idealized and not enough consistent for me to believe in their potential.
