Any chess players on BB?

Do we have any chess players on the boards? I'm a pretty big fan of it. I've always really liked tactical games and chess is pretty much the definition of it. I play quite a bit online actually.
 
Yes. I used to play quite a bit with my dad a few years ago, I still play occasionally now against the computer.

I love tactical and strategy games in general.
 
I don't have a clue how to play chess 😛

I can play draughts, if that counts 😉

I'm happy that chess has become popular with the kids at work. They've improved a lot the last few months. I doubt they'll think I'm good much longer. At the moment they still do and even if I never have a strategy when I start I end up winning if I'm concentrate. Such an achievement considering I play against 7-10 year olds. 😉
 
I used to play in high school, but I was never that great at it and I haven't kept playing it since, so my skills are quite rusty now.

Love to hear that kids that age still learns to play chess.

I used to play quite a lot when I was younger.
Had a chess computer that I managed to beat on quite a high level towards the end when you had learned how it played.

But I've never been on such level that I learned strategies and stuff.
Wouldn't describe myself as a particular good player even when I played the most.

Now it must be over 10 years since I last play...

I like chess, but I'm pretty awful at it. No better than average, I'd say. I only win when playing my younger cousins. 😀

I could never beat my computer. Damn robot. 😀 I'm much better at playing Hearts or Minesweeper.
 
I love playing chess. Especially with people who don't know that I can play. XD

My grandfather has been 'training' me since I was about 10 or so.
 
Love chess!! It's a big thing with the fam, we'll usually play a few games a day when I visit. What's interesting is that my brother works with kids and they also play at school! Again, nice to know people are taking interest in a traditional game!
 
Let's see. I learned chess when I was still in kindergarden I think. My Dad liked it a lot, and my brother as well. But that's why I don't have the fondest memory. My brother's 4 years older than me, so basically, he beat me at every single game. After a while I didn't feel like playing anymore because it does suck when you're always losing. And back at that time my brother also didn't get the concept of letting people win sometimes...Lol he was such a bad loser. I think that's also one of the reasons he always wanted to play chess, because he knew he would win.

These days I sometimes play against one of my friends. I always manage to beat her using my brother's strategies 😛

I understand it. Typically the person I play beats me without me ever noticing. I hardly win. I see a lot of that here, haha.

Has anyone played Aggravation? Its a board game with dice and marbles. Requires strategy.
