Okay, so there are by my count 229 issues total. So 10 a week would take 6 months or 5 a week would take a year.

First thing is, should we include Spike: Asylum? I don't know if @AndrewCrossett is around - I know he's done a lot on reading order and maybe he can comment on what's best? I made a list simply ordered by release date, but I am open to changes.

What we could do is 5 Buffy & 5 Angel, so that if someone wanted fewer issues and didn't want to read Angel, they wouldn't have to. I don't believe reading Angel & Buffy together (I mean, in the order of the date they were released) is important until Season 9, and at that point they were released in tandem.

I'm happy either way though. It's likely that Season 11 won't start until next Spring anyway. Let me know your thoughts 🙂

1. I really like that you added like every single little thing, and I was not expecting to see all 40 issues of Angel on there, but awesome. I started collecting the singles a few months ago and I'm about done.
2. I like the idea of 10 issues a week: 5 Buffy, 5 Angel.
3. I think we should add Spike: Shadow Puppets and Asylum. Those two stories, Spike: AtF, and the 8-issue Spike series are just as important to canon as any IDW Angel story imo.
4. If we're gonna do Season 9, we have to include the Spike and Willow mini-series. To me, it's not complete without them.
5. Not gonna lie, I don't think I'd be into alternating issues like you described. I think that would get exhausting trying to remember where we are and switching between stories like that. In my opinion, we should alternate arcs or alternate trades. It would be much less confusing and we could talk about the entire stories, rather than the single issues. Again, just my humble opinion as a lazy message board-er. Take it or leave it.. I'll join in either way.

Well, for Season 8, it's easier to group the titles together. When we get to 9 and 10, though, they cross over a bit more (if I recall correctly), so I'm hesitant on that. The other thing I was thinking about when doing this is, most of the arcs are four issues in Buffy, so it's not like they're going to work out in 5 or 10 episode groups. I'm happy to do the "pre-season 9" stuff as series (ATF, Spike ATF, Season 8, etc) and then do 5 Buffy/5 Angel & Faith for 9 and 10 if people want. It's a bit trickier if we only do 5 eps a week, because I know some people won't be reading the Angel stuff so there would either be weeks when some people don't participate or you have to split 3 of one series/2 of the other.

Like I said, I just ordered them by date for a list, I didn't make an actual schedule yet.

I thought I had Shadow Puppets in there - I will add.

Here is my reading order page, completely up to date.

I'm pretty strict with my definition of canon... I don't have any of the IDW Angel comics after "After the Fall" on there, because Joss had no involvement in them. But I do have some quasi-canon stuff that relates directly to the canon titles. It's mostly stuff my Brian Lynch that I included because he and Joss worked this whole general storyline out together. (You can add Shadow Puppets... I left it out because unlike Asylum, it doesn't really have any bearing on the canon comics.)

For people who don't have the comics and don't want to buy crates of books, all of the Buffy comics back to the beginning of season 8 are available on the Dark Horse digital store.

The IDW Angel books are on Comixology, but it looks like you can only buy the collections and not individual issues.

Okay, how about this? I tried to keep things together in arcs and also coincide with AC's reading order as much as possible, while making sure we're in sync for Season 10 Buffy & Angel & Faith. Also I know After the Fall is called other things along the way, but for ease I just kept that name to describe pre-Angel & Faith issues. When we hit week 9, depending on who is participating, if people don't want to read the rest of the "After the Fall" stuff we can cut that out. We can play that by ear.

I'll post the schedule for the next week's reading each week, and list the individual issues there as well. So people won't need to refer to a giant list of issues.

I will say - man it is MUCH easier just going by release date!! lol

Okay, how about this? I tried to keep things together in arcs and also coincide with AC's reading order as much as possible, while making sure we're in sync for Season 10 Buffy & Angel & Faith. Also I know After the Fall is called other things along the way, but for ease I just kept that name to describe pre-Angel & Faith issues. When we hit week 9, depending on who is participating, if people don't want to read the rest of the "After the Fall" stuff we can cut that out. We can play that by ear.

I'll post the schedule for the next week's reading each week, and list the individual issues there as well. So people won't need to refer to a giant list of issues.

I will say - man it is MUCH easier just going by release date!! lol

That just means they came out at the same time. Spike: AtF is essentially the continuation of his First Night story in Vol. 2, so it definitely should come before Vol. 3 imo..
