Any old characters you would like to see?

Are there any old characters from Buffy and Angel you would like to see coming back in this season? Not necessarily ''coming back'' but even just an appearance, flash back or anything.

On Buffy I'm very open to see anyone from Anya to Joyce, even Oz.

On Angel & Faith I would be super excited to see Cordelia! 😀

Not sure they already announced anything in the future releases but still!

In Angel and Faith: Gunn, Conner, Cordelia (even if its just in flashback I'd love to see her...), maybe Gwen Raiden- haven't seen her since AtF, I don't really know what happened to her after.
But most of all- Wesley. 🙁🙁 . I'd love to see him interact with Angel and Faith again. Ghost Wesley could totally work and really fill out a niche in their London team. They could use him as a tie in to W&H, the remantants of the Watcher's council through Wesley's father...so many plot ideas.
So...I guess my ideal group would be Angel, Faith, Gunn, Conner, ghost Wesley, Illyria/Fred and Cordy, cause if there's one higher power who would make her opinions known...

In Buffy: Oz would be nice, maybe Riley, but mainly Faith- want to see her interact with Buffy, Xander and Willow some more, even though she's got her own comic now.

Also would want to see Drusilla show up for a final showdown with Spike, they need some closure on that whole relationship, preferably ending with one of them dying.

Oh, and Harmony so Buffy (or Willow) can stake her. 🙂

I think the comics, more so in season 8, relied WAY too heavily on old characters, it stunts the story, stops it from being an actual continued story and makes it a greatest hits.

New characters like Satsu are interesting, even Kennedy became more interesting (I know she's not new, but she's relatively new)

New characters like billy failed, but that was cuz the character was like 99% a message rather than an actual character.

Simone was a fairly interesting new character bad guy.

I'd rather they focused on the scoobies and introduced new secondary characters (if any) and the bad guys should all be new, no more bad guys from the past.

I think A&F proved you could introduce new characters (Giles' aunts, Nadira, Pearl & Nash) that are fully fleshed out, unique and interesting. As well as bringing back old characters from the series (Whistler, Drusilla, Harmony, Eyghon, Conner/Gunn) and still have a great series, with great storylines. They're not mutually exclusive.

Buffy Season 9 introduced new characters- badly (Koh, Billy, Detective I can't be arsed looking his name up, Zompires), and used old characters badly (D'hoffryn, W&H, although the call back to the Deeper Well was a nice touch.)

To be honest it all depends on how you use them. 🙂

If old characters are brought back it should be for a decent story line/character interaction, otherwise it shouldn't happen.

I wouldn't wait for that to happen. I don't think it's in the cards.

Connor and Gunn they will not be in the season ten. I asked this in the first Q/A, just because I was interested to know how much they are going to recreate the old team, but it seems that ATS will now just a memory. This Angel isn't longer the Angel of ATS, the Champ of Los Angeles, he is now the Sheriff of London, more precisely, Sheriff of Magic Town. This is Angel's new role!

...and while I think it is a mistake eliminate Connor from Angel's life, (come on, he is his son) I'm also aware that this is the story they have in mind for him in season ten. Angel is alone.

Bring back Ethan Rayne. He was captured by the Initiative and sent to an undisclosed location (rendition in Syria or Guantanimo?) but he has not died and he could either break out or be let out by a spell to create more havoc.

Satsu, Leah and Rowena. I really thought they were going to be huge parts of the story. I miss them.

And, as much as it's going to piss some people off, I want to see soulless, chipless Spike. I want to see if they think there IS a difference. We've seen soulless Angel loads of times. Turn about is fair play and all that. I want to see it.

Extremely disappointing. As you said, it's Angel's son! Plus, from a story aspect, Connor has been a very strong character post-S4.

The bit that boggles my mind is that were Angel kept on TV, we know Joss would have kept Wes, Gunn, and Illyria around. Wes especially was integral, and he's not quite "dead," more suppressed by Wolfram & Hart where we left off. I hope Doyle eventually returns, if anything, I would see it as a tribute to Glenn.

Agree with the slayer thing and especially the Spike thing!
Let's have Spike become a 'big bad' again, see if he really has changed. Maybe he can get back together with Drusilla...maybe it's even a scheme of hers to get him back.

I hate the way that so far in flashbacks evil, soulless Spike is seen as just kinda cool and rebellious and not really that evil. Its such a crock...

The main people I want to see back, or at least have a more integral part of the story are Satsu and Kennedy.

On Angel's side, I'd like to see Wes and I'd want them to give him a proper send off. Maybe bringing him back for one issue to finally put him to rest, the guy really deserves a break.

I'd like to see more of Illyria and Fred.

It's kind of interesting that I've always been more invested in BtVS, but in the comic form I like the characters on Angel so much more. I would even liked to see Connor, and I'd also like to see Kate. Okay, I kind of just want After the Fall part 2 lol that was by far my favorite series.

Hear, Hear. After the Fall, part two would be great. Although the Buffy series is cram jam full of characters, I would like to see a Clem Cameo and for Angel, a Lorne appearance. Lorne's the kind of character who would fit in well in magic town !

While I haven't been reading the comics, I have been keeping up with online summaries to see what the lowdown is. I was thinking of buying them all once it finally wraps up. Season 8 burned me too bad, and now I'm way more cautious.

But, I'm saying it anyway: needs moar Fang Gang! I couldn't care less about the Scoobies at this point, and the Fang Gang are the far more interesting and untapped group. It bums me out that the surviving members are being largely ignored: Connor, Gunn, Lorne, Kate, Groo, Gwen, Nina, etc. SPOILERS I read that Illyria got killed off, and any of my cautiously optimistic feelings for S9 went down the crapper right there. Some more mentions of Cordy and Wes would be lovely too.

Oz should come back and join the Fang Gang. He's the only Scooby I can really stomach now.

I hope Lorne is still alive. He sacrificed himself in the IDW comics, but those aren't technically considered canon past #17 (After the Fall). He was mentioned briefly in Angel & Faith when Gunn said something along the lines of "Well, you know what happened to him."

I seriously don't understand how they don't include Connor. He's Angel's only blood family for god's sake!

I wouldn't be surprised in the least if we see Illyria again.

I kind of agree with [MENTION=5973]Black Eye Guy[/MENTION]- I don't necessarily need every former character ever. I just need fully-fleshed out characters, new or old.

Agree that the Fang Gang are criminally underused- I'd like them to take London by storm, and interact with Faith a little more.

(One of the main reasons I love the Salvage/Release/Orpheus trilogy is all those little interactions between the characters.) 🙂

I would like to see some of Buffy's Slayer team from Season 9 show up. I assume they all parted friends, and there's no real reason why they couldn't drop by.

Also, and I know this is sort of out of left field, but the way that Kate Lockley was portrayed in Angel's "After The Fall" arc, she could do a reverse Wesley, showing up in Buffy's territory as a free lance rogue demon hunter, or maybe a liaison between Buffy and the local police. The Scoobies have been sort of disbanded lately (I know, they're supposed to come back together in Season 10) and Buffy could use some more muscle on her team.

Riley. I just really like how Buffy brightens up around him.

And all of the Fang Gang, particularly Cordy. I really miss her bossing Angel around.
