So I was watching the Academy Awards cermony last night, and it got me to thinking. Wouldn't it be wonderful if a Buffy person some day made it as a nominee?

And that got me to thinking, if one of them did, which one would it be?

Ive always said that Alyson Hannigan as Evil Willow in the last moments of Grave were the best thing Ive saw on TV ever....she was the best EVER!
She made me cry like Ive never cried before when she did that, I cried more watching Grave that I did when Anya died...and thats saying something...

The one who has the most chance for being nominated for an Oscar is Joss, because he was already nominated for Best Original Screenplay for Toy Story.

I'm looking into my crystal ball, and seeing Drew Goddard one day writing and directing a multi-million dollar mega-hit. He's young.

Alexis Denisof is my choice for one day winning an oscar, so I went for "other". He has the best chances of crossing over into something more serious due to his above average acting ability.

Joss Whedon, not because he has already been nominated once. But the future I see something like that happening again, offcourse I'm sort of hoping that in the future a new "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"-movie, will do a cleansweep like RotK did last night.

Joss Whedon because he has potential to be a great writer if the people in charge stop seeing his as "that guy who wrote buffy". Didnt he already win an award for Toy Story or something anyway?

Actor wise I'd say Aly, if ASH was a bit younger I would say him but hes not in much these days. You never know, maybe Michelle as apparently shes good in Eurotrip and shes only 18.

yes M..Sarah-she was awesome in Cruel Intentions..hope to see her soon in sth that good...

Well... She's got Scooby Doo 2 coming out soon. 😀

Switching back to serious though, Michelle Trachtenberg is a good dark horse canditate. She's already connected to a couple of Indie films going into production.

Indie films have won the last two Actress Oscars.

That would be seriously awesome. I think Joss has a shot at it one day.

I think it would be Joss. I love all the actors but I just can't forsee them winning an oscar. I think they are all really, really good, but there are so many obstacles going between movies and tv, and then from normal movies to oscar winny movies. Although, you never know, Sean Penn started out in Fast Times at Ridgemont High...

AshSan, Joss was only nominated for an Oscar, he didn't win it.

It's Joss. It's Joss. It's Joss. For an original project, having nothing to do with Buffy or Angel.

And if there is an "other" it'd likely be his cohort Ben Edlund.

Didn't see this thread sorry, I posted this in another Oscars thread.
