Any Spuffy fans disappointed that Buffy & Spike never kissed?

I know this was a pretty good season for Spuffy shippers, because pretty much of the strong friendship between Spike and Buffy. But, is anyone a little bit disappointed that they never got to kiss at least once. I know in Season 6 they had a really rough/messed up relationship, and what Spike did in "Seeing Red" was totally wrong. It's just that, they seemed to have such a strong bond this season, and as the season went on the bond simply got stronger. The thing is, Buffy kissed Angel in "Chosen", and they're just friends, so what's the deal? I'm not trying to start a shipping war or anything, but it would of been really awesome if Spike and Buffy at least kissed once to show that the kiss actually means a whole lot of good things, and that all of that S6 stuff is in the past.

Anyway, i am not trying to be a big sop or anything. Season 7 was a great season for Spuffy fans, and i can't wait to re watch it on DVD. I pretty much haven't seen most of the episodes since the original run in 2002-2003, so this should be good.

Thanks for reading everyone.

they did in Intervention and S6

edit-

oh i see what your saying, a S7 kiss. Well they did to me in Chosen.

Nah. I'm not sad about it. They evolved into a close friendship and that to me was leaps and bounds from the place they were in S6. Sure, I'd love for them to get back together someday, but I'm not holding my breath.

you know the last scene when they each stare at each other in chosen?

Are you honestly going to tell me on their possible last night on earth after admitting their feelings for each other that their gonna.... play checkers? 😉

LOL I totally agree... It was soooo intimate and beautiful, even though their intimacy had nothing to do with bumpin' uglies.
Certainly their antics in Season 6 were a whole lot more passionate, but to me there was much more love in Season 7, just in the way that they looked at each other and the things that they said and did when no one else was around. The last few moments in "Showtime," when Buffy cut Spike's bonds and he finally realized that she had really, finally, come for him; When she touched his cheek in "Chosen" after he said "I don't know what I would've done if you'd gone up those stairs"; when Buffy told him that she believed in him; the look of relief on Buffy's face when she got to Robin's garage and found Spike that Giles' and Wood's plot had failed. Those moments showed more actual love than anything that Buffy ever had with Riley or that other guy, whose name escapes me at the moment (you know, the one that was always brooding and so depressing that they wrote him out of the show at the end if Season 3).

It was actually a hello...and then there was some basking afterwards. Angel is actually on his way to S8 to collect his cookies as we speak. :D

Crap. Angel's coming back? Eh.
Nope, didn't bother me one bit. In fact I'm quite happy with the fact that Buffy's last kiss in the series was from Angel😀

You do realize the title of the thread was 'Are SPUFFY FANS disappointed that Spike and Buffy didn't kiss?'? Coming in here to gloat your Bangel happiness is just pathetic. 😉

Now now now...what's with all the hostility missy I just came here to spread the joy...which you are clearly in need of.

Poor Lyri... how can such a sweet girl be so bitter..tut tut.

Who said I'm bitter? I agree with Silum...There was no checker boards in the Summers' basment.

Oh let these little stories paly out in your head...I prefer to go by what actually happened on screen:)
Might not have seen it on screen, (and I'm figuring that's because of Seeing Red - too confusing a message to send out, and they have to be responsible) but I feel their relationship was built upon in this series to the extent that it was stronger than in S6. Their friendship and the support they gave each other seemed genuinely heartfelt.

So I agree that it's unlikely they were playing checkers. No checkers board. But I bet there was a whole load of chains and rope lying around....

love the banner!
I am glad that there was never an onscreen kiss.. thought played out better being left up to the imagination what really went on and was going on in their relationship.

Even though this comment wasn't made directly to me, I feel honor bound to point out that what "actually happened" was that Buffy sent Angel trucking back to LA where he came from, named Spike as her champion, gave HIM the amulet that Ol' Broody had planned on wearing, and spent that night and the next night in Spike's bed. That's what "actually happened." Bangels will just have to get over their little delusions.

I don't want to turn thsi thread into something it wasn't intended for but I just want to say I have never deluded myself as to what happened between Spike and Buffy. They had a fantastic friendship.
I think the reason there wasnt an on screen kiss is because there didnt need to be, youd have to be blind to not notice their in love! 😛

I was very thankful we got a kiss between Angel and Buffy, it was great seeing how they had moved on and were finally saying goodbye. It was enjoyable Angel being told to go home and that all he gets is the chance at some cookies (im guessing she'll make chocolate chip ones) in the future whereas Spike got to have some lovely spuffy basement action.

I will not be baited into a response...I will not be baited into a response...I will not be baited into a response...;)
I think it was better with out the kiss....their gaze into each others eyes showed more then any kiss....and the fire when they linked hands was just perfect...it was the perfect symbol for their relationship...sure originally it was destructive and out of control in S6 but towards the end of season seven it was a soft warm glowing flame...healthy almost. I think a spuffy kiss at the end of chosen would have had the same effect as if Spuffy had slept together during Touched...it would have cheapened it and made the relationship degrade back to what it was in S6....unhealthy..

Totally disagree, how does a kiss cheapen their relationship?

I was disappointed that we didn't get to see them kiss but at the same time, the way they just gazed at each other for ages was deeper than a kiss. They perfectly understood each other, it was more soulful, less obviously sexual.

Well. I'll start by saying I don't consider myself a Spuffy or a Bangel. I appreciate and like both relationships. (I do think that Buffy and Angel are soul mates, if there is such a thing, and will always love each other...so I guess you could call me a Bangel, but meh.)

Anyways, I think the S7 Spuffy relationship was, before anything else, a deep friendship. They loved each other. Whether that's romantic love or not, that's up for debate, but the love is obviously there.
A kiss...well, it would have reminded me too much of S6. And S7 was all about showing how much Spuffy has grown and matured. Their S7 relationship wasn't about sex or lust. It was about friendship, trust, mutual support, forgiveness. So adding sexuality was unnecessary and would have taken away from what they'd become, I think.

Aww Kean, you are adorable.

I'm not disappointed. *ducks objects and objections* I think it proved that they had a relationship, even if there was no peck on the lips involved.

You only find my Bangelness adorable since I fell of GG! lol

You mean thier last night together before the final fight? You think they slept together? I'm not sure. They could have talked all night, just layed in watch others arms...who knows. Joss left us to deside. I have not desided yet what I believe they did on that night...
I have ideas, though 😉

RIGHT ON!! I think kissing him was more out of habit than anything. No real romance in involved, it seemed.

LMFAO..."out of habit"...
I agree with all the above. That is to say, of course, people above who have said that a) they obviously kissed and had a nice, sweaty night that night before the fight, and b) that them not kissing on screen was good because it left a world of space to show how deep their love for eachother was. All the little things, from Buffy siding with Spike in Lies my parents told me, to the burning hands somehow meant so much more like this, then if they were (also) boinking. Because now it was obviously that it was all meant and heartfelt and everything, and had nothing to do with that either of them wanted some action.
That is also why I agree with Aly Fan, a kiss would have brought that beautiful scene in the basement, or Touched, for that matter, down to the level of, I dunno, foreplay I guess. Which is of course also good, and yay, and I would have loved to see them kiss and have wild Spuffy sex, but like this it was so much more mature, more real. (more real and mature than Bangel ever was and will be)

That said, a sweet kiss on the forehead or something like that, would have been more than okay. (sw)
