I just stumbled across this site awhile ago

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4180514/

and it would appear that ol' Burt Gummer, my favorite survivalist, and his pack of Graboids, Assblasters, and assorted misfits are coming back to the small screen, direct to DVD, in October.

(I've always wondered if Joss got the inspiration for the ex-boyfriend/underground critter from "From Beneath You It Devours" from these movies)

I can't believe they made a 5th one. The sequels were bad and the TV show was worse. But the 5th does have Malibu's Most Wanted so thats a plus it's got going for it.

Yeah, but they were laughably bad, which made them kinda fun. Let's face it, just about any movie whose title that ends with a number is gonna be worse than its predecessor, but they still sell tickets and popcorn.

I think the first movie is really great. Seemed like a fun, original horror/comedy (a very hard genre to do). I didn't see any of the sequels but I guess the idea could fit the small screen.

Didn't they do a Western flashback version of Tremors? 😵

Loved the original film. Kevin Bacon at his charming leading man best, and a great supporting cast. It was big, dumb, stylish fun😛 A min-masterpiece in its field. Didn't see any of the sequels and have little desire too. Might check this out though depending on the details.

That was the 4th movie in the series, "Tremors: The Legend Begins. Michael Gross played Hiram Gummer, the ancestor of Bert Gummer, the character who he played in the first three installments, the TV series, and in the upcoming movie. Unlike Bert, who is a master of any sort of firearm, Hiram is the classic city slicker who barely knows from which end of a gun the bullet comes out.

Incidentally, in this prequel movie, the little town of Perfection makes me think of what Sunnydale must have been like when Wilkins first arrived. No vampires, or actual demons, but I would love to see what a Slayer could do to a Graboid.
