Personally I love the Anya Giles connection. He's a handsome middle-aged watcher, full of book smarts and English charm, she's a 1000 year old ex-demon with tons of real-world knowledge. Giles would be patient with Anya's literalness and actually be interested in her history and knowledge. Anya would loosen Giles up and bring the sexiness. They both loved The Magic Box, they had shared interests and there was a definite spark there. Does anyone else see it? Discuss 🙂

I agree with you and Xander and Cordelia should stay together.
 
I completely agree, I'm not sure how it could've happened but there was definitely a spark. Their kiss is one of the better things about Tabula Rasa. I mean, Anya and Xander are nice together, but she just kind of fixates on him and then they're a couple, but I never feel like they have much in common except for sex. With the Magic Box and what not, I can see Anya and Giles together... Xander can dry his tears with Buffy 😛 Or Spike, Joss did after all consider making him gay. 🙂

Definitely one of the ships I could see; Giles could be a real stabilizing influence on Anya- if he'd had a bit more patience- and she obviously felt very close to him in S5 and 6. And he grew quite foind of her as well.
I remember her watching Giles and Buffy hug in 'Grave' and her saying 'I'm blonde' trying to get his attention and that manly British hug of his.

Plus their 'Tabula Rasa' kiss is the best kiss of Season 6 by a mile; the sweeping and the swooning and then the (literal) sweeping afterwards. What with all the denial.
If Anya had survived the final battle I would've wanted her to 'find herself' with crusty British watcher-man; wait until she finds out that Giles has LOTS of money. And a flat in London. And a farm.

Giles/Anya has the potential... I'm not sure Giles is patient enough to handle Anya's quirks and sarcasm.
 
I love Anya/Giles. Their chemistry in Tabula Rasa was pretty hot, even if they were under a spell 😉 I think there's a deep rooted connection there, otherwise I doubt they'd have been drawn to each other so much.

I think Giles could look past the sarcasm and demonic past, after all, his past isn't all sweetness and roses either.

I like the Anya/Giles scenes, would have been better if had gone to Giles for post breakup sex rather than Spike! We could have seen them try and figure out if it was a one time thing or if they wanted to have a go of it. Then struggle with Xander finding out and everything

Love that idea :-)
Their short-lived "engagement" in Tabula Rasa is hilarious, but it's also way too ridiculous to be more than that one episode. Although I could watch Giles sword fighting with a skeleton over and over again, so if he needs to stay with Anya without memories just to keep doing that I support it.
