Could Anya (or any vengeance demon) have gone to Quortoth and rescued Connor if someone had wished it?

ohhhhh thats interesting, since the Vengeance demon power seems to be limitless.

I'm gonna say no. We know she can create an alternate dimension, but since Quortoth was a rip into another dimension rather then traveling between them, I'm gonna say it's harder and out of bounds for a vengeance demon

Although Willow was able to do it in season 9, so I say a soft no, but I could be persuaded otherwise.

but Willow needed the blood of Connor

There aren't portals to Quor-Toth. Willow needed the blood of Connor, because his blood was still impregnated of the "essence" of that demonic dimension.

I didn't think she would need a portal to there
A visit to Quor Toth happens only in the Buffy verse, or in Angel's part of that verse. So yes, if Joss had deemed it to be a possibilty it could have been so.
That being so, the answer to your question is yes.

But, would it have only been another Wishverse and not reality?

Halfrek didn't make another reality when she granted Dawn's wish though, so I think that if the wish was worded right it could be the same reality

Very interesting, makes me wonder all the useful things they could have done with Anya as a vengeance demon. Of course there's the whole aspect that needs to be about vengeance, but I guess it would have been possible for Angel to ask such a thing. I think he could have at least ask for Connor and Holtz to be brought back to their dimension. Vengeance demons seem to have an extended knowledge on dimensions and the rules that apply to magick and the world, so I think it might be possible. The wishverse shows it's at least possible to mingle with dimensions, so I wouldn't rule it out.

also Illyria knows the dimensions, surely she knows them better than Anya
nightshade agrees: I didn't think she would need a portal to there
nightshade: I always thought that to go from one dimension to another, it's necessary to open the portals.

Well I guess Cordelia was moved from the regular universe into the Wishverse without a portal, so I think if Anya was capable of moving someone there she could do it the same way.

that's what I'm thinking, unless a portal was opened and they didn't show it

Anyanka has sent everyone into an alternate reality created by the wish expressed by Cordelia, but although it was a different Sunnydale, was still in our dimension. Quor-toth, the dimension of Glory, the dimension of Jasmine and others, require a portal. I don't think Anya can go to Quor-toth, because not even Sahjhan can open the portal for two consecutive times.

Yeah but he was clearly lying since his reasoning was that the universe would collapse in on itself, which clearly wasn't true since Connor came back through a tear and Willow ripped her way through also.

I guess I always thought of it as she only moved Cordy and created a new universe tailored to her wish, with the same history as Cordys own world right up till Buffy not coming to Sunnydale, and the universe ceases to exist once the necklace is broken.

But you think Anyanka actually changed their main universe? Changed reality rather then moved universe?

In terms of moving between worlds, Willow was about to do a spell in season 6 that would move anyone that wasn't a 16 year old girl in the Bronze into an alternate dimension, although she didn't, it didn't sound like it was gonna open a portal, they were just gonna disappear and reappear. She also moved Olaf from their world to the land of the trolls without a portal. She mentions that it's tricky and she could have moved him to the land of no shrimp, she later opens a portal to the land of no shrimp from Quor-toth, so I think it can be down both ways, you can move between dimensions or you can open a portal.

Maybe a portal is a more stable way of doing it, like if you open a portal the entrance and exit is in a fixed position, when she moves Olaf she says it's tricky because the dimensions are moving so she couldn't be 100%.

Black Eye Guy: I think both things are true 🙂 Maybe the dimensional portals are more present in ATS (Jhiera - Pylea - Quortoth - Jasmine) In BTVS, besides Glory comes me to mind only Acathla.

Probably I Am I doing wrong, but you know something? I always thought that the reality created by Anyanka in "The Wish" existed only in the mind of Cordy. She remembered the old Sunnydale, she knew that Giles was a Watcher, and she knew Buffy ..so I thought that what her lived was just a figment of his wish (not so much) unconscious 🙂
