She decided to stay for the apocalyse, not run like she did in season 3. That takes courage. Many equate courage to stupidity, but when you are willing to through your life down so that others may live (or be free), it shows love for others over youself. That is, IMOPO, is the greatest (non-procriation based) accomplishment of a human's life. To love and live, even if it is cut short.

I think the choice of positioning people sucked. Anya and Andrew? Come on, I think they should at least had one potential there.

LMAO Magui...when I read the thread name I thought "Too bad we can't choose Heroic AND Stupid" I love you. 😛

i voted both, buuut i dont think she was stupid for protecting andrew, just looked stupid how she died, like she couldn't of been watching her back? ::huh1::

I voted heroic. her death was what made me cry she gave her all and it wasnt because she wanted something she gave it becuase she loved them all everything that they had thought about her being selfish was put to rest. ok so they didnt think she was at the end but omg when she died i couldnt stop crying and why xander and anderw were talking afterwards it was worse. it was definaly heroic

I voted stupid because it was absolutely needless and didn't contribute to saving the world. In the end her death was meaningless and the result of her position in the battle. She was fighting supper-human things and had no one to protect her. Moreover, she was fighting by Andrew who couldn't even take care of himself much less watch her back. So yeah it was stupid. It wasn't her fault that Buffy assigned her that position, but her death was almost certain in retrospect and therefore stupid because it didn't solve anything or help anything. Yes death is usually horrible and useless. It's just sad in a show like Buffy when voluntary death becomes useless too.

I voted for both. She died saving Andrew but she should have did what Xander said. Use him as a shield.

I agree with the positioning. I understand Xander with Dawn, but why did they leave Andrew and Anya (both pretty useless in a NICE way 😛) together? Couldn't Prinicipal Wood or someone have been there?
Anyway, sad death though🙁.

Obviously, her 'death' was stupid and pointless, she didnt deserve to die!
But she was heroic, she took charge, she was so brave!
Ok...crying now...

I chose both...Heroic cos she died fighting and Stupid cos she was protecting Andrew...Who is a wimp!!

AS said many times before, the positioning was just bad. Actually, funny thing, they filmed that scene twice, one shot where Andrew dies and the other where Anya dies. I'm sorry but I wouldn't be able to handle seeing Andrew be sliced in half. But her death was just that a death, Joss said himself, that he needed someone to just die unherorically, which sucks, but a character such as Anya as well as the actress who plays her deserves more than that as a death scene.

I don't think it was in anyway stupid. It was completely heroic! She was fighting against something that was worth fighting against, even though it was a difficult and scary thing to do...
